Candlelight Inn & Suites

I was passing through Montgomery and needed a room to rest.  This hotel is not too far from the interstate.  I was greeted by a friendly staff.  I had a few special requests and the front desk staff did a great job in meeting my requests.  There was a restaurant on site.  The food was delicious.  I really enjoyed my stay.

The lounge has a great environment to relax the day away with good music a couple pool tables and flavorful food. The drinks are worth the price also. They often have dinner specials and theme nights.

Let me start off by saying, Booking.com should be ashamed of even suggesting that this is a hotel, seriously.. We arrived on March 27, 2015. Checked in found out as we got our luggage the elevator had been out since 2013, as we walked the stairs to second floor we found half eaten food, trash piled into every inch of that place.. As we opened the door to the single room, we saw a dirty stained mattress standing by door, as we walked further into room the dinette table was broken into pieces laying in middle of floor, the cable line was shared with the room across hall, the pool was filled with tras h with a trash can thrown in for good measure, This place is what nightmares are made of, the only clean place in building that didnt have garbage piled up was the bar and thats because the prostitutes we saw was cleaning it, seriously, true story.. The health Dept. of Montgomery needs to get involved immediently!! For the sake of you and your families health and public safety , DO NOT STAY HERE!!! We actually got our money back that night as well as another customer.. p.s. Had to give at least 1 star in order to submit my review, deserves NO stars..

Nightmare in Montgomery

My family and I were on vacation and wanting to go to the casino so we just decided to get 2 rooms. When we arrived, the neighborhood is very sketch and unnerving. When we were going up to our rooms on the 2nd floor and the elevators were broke. Walking down the hall way to find the stairs, it smelled like pure pee and filth. I seen chicken bones laying in the floor all over the place and piles of trash. When we got to one of the rooms the key did not work. So we tried the other one. When we finally got into the room there was a blood stained mattress leaned up against the wall. The wall sockets were ripped out of the walls with exposed wire. And the cable from the tv was being ran into the room across the hall. I will never stay here again. I got a refund and left. She til me that it was non refundable when I paid for them, but I have them the what for and got my money back.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!

I booked 2 rooms in this hotel: one for 4 nights and 1 for five nights.This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in!! Where do I begin --- My reservations were booked over the phone and I was told the hotel had a restaurant. I contacted the hotel because they immediately charged my card for the total cost, after telling me they would not.  They later call to say because of the shortage of hotels for weekend, the booking was non-refundable.  We arrived when it was dark and couldn't see what the neighborhood was like. The elevator was "out of service." We told the manager we could not do stairs. She gave us rooms on the 1st floor.  I did not visit the 2 room, but upon arrival in the first room we observed no towels or trash cans, heating/air condition unit wiring and front was exposed.  The room was very shabby furnished with a TV that could only be operated manually, no remote.  WE were in a rush so we immediately left. When we returned our key card did not work for room. No staff at desk. A "club goer" agreed to find the manager who we were told resided in the hotel.  The person returned with a phone for me to speak with her.  She sounded annoyed and said she could not leave a 3-year old in the room. After a "What to you expect us to do" conversation she said needed a few minutes to find some one to let us in.  Soon a "manager" (?) came into the lobby in shabby clothing and gave us keys.  Now we see the 2nd room, Completely deplorable, Nasty linen and unclean, TV did not work. She agreed to have my brother put in another room.  Not much better, but appeared to be clean. The place smelled awful but it appeared some one had attempted to clean the room with PIne Sol. (That smell was actually preferable to the smell of urine that we endured the next morning after the Pine Sol smell had dissipated.)  

Day Two was a repeat of the first.  We returned to the hotel around 11 p.m. and could not get in our rooms. Again we spent several minutes trying to contact some one by phone at a number that had been left at the unattended desk.  After 15-20 minutes we got in rooms to discover that no clean had taken place in the rooms. We had not fresh linen or towels.  Bed were not made. Nothing had been done to rooms.

This is a residential hotel.  I inquired and obtained this information from several of the residents.  

WE left the hotel after the 2nd night. We relinquished our payment for the remaining 2 nights. These were definite an very unpleasant accommodation.
