Everything was perfect about this motel. The price was very reasonable and the owner was very pleasant. He went out of his way to make sure that we were comfortable and gave us plenty of suggestions for supper and sight seeing. Fresh coffee available  in morning. Even called me to let me know that I had left the pillow behind.

Rooms were clean. It was a great budget friendly option that was within a walkable distance to Dakota Wesleyan University. Staff was friendly.

Good stay.  Exactly what we paid for.  No frills hotel that was comfortable for 1 night.

Was very clean, bathroom, new, management friendly. Outside needs some cleaning up, but it has some age, was freshly cleaned, and mowed. Large parking lot, easy to find, safe area.

Personable and perfect as others have described. Will stay here again if in Mitchell. Such a low key pleasant experience away from the interstate busyness.

Very friendly, room was clean with exception of carpet.  Truly love having my car parked in front of my door!

The owner is very nice and gave me the room that I parked in front of.  I loved being able to bring my things right into my room instead of walking through a hotel and up an elevator, etc.  The room is nice.  It's roomier than many hotels and has a mini fridge and microwave, dresser and desk, plus excellent wi-fi.  I would definitely stay here again.

A Gem

Stayed over one night on my to Nebraska. Property is Right off the interstate. Such a cute little motel. Staff was very friendly. Room and bed was super comfortable! Very clean and affordable!  I have stayed in chain hotels all over the country that weren’t  as clean and cozy as this sweet little motel. Would stay here again!

Comfortable stay

I was pleasantly surprised by this motel. For an inexpensive motel it was everything we needed: clean, good beds, and secure (safe). It's not the Ritz, maybe a bit dated, but if you're looking for a lower-priced place to stay, don't hesitate. We'll stay here again the next time we are in town. Recommended.

Would stay here again

Nice manager who helped when the TV wasn't working. Maintained fairly well and was clean. Older property near a major noisy road. Ran out of Kleenex  tissues so should be better at maintaining supplies. No coffee in room nor breakfast available but what can we expect for the low price. Otherwise a nice place to stay for a quick overnighter to drive to our next destination.

What a lovely little motel. Quite a pleasant surprise! It was one of the cleanest places I have ever stayed at. The building is older, but well kept up. Bryan was friendly, helpful, and genuinely a nice man. I appreciated how clean everything in the room was. I was traveling alone with my dog, and I always felt safe there.

The Coachlight was a great choice. The room was spacious, had a fridge and microwave, and two comfy chairs. The WiFi was fine. It was very clean (my dog found nothing in the corners or under the beds to eat as she had in the two previous nights at chain hotels). It was also very reasonably priced ($65). In short, I would stay here again.

A great property from the days when you pulled right up to your room!

This is a budget motel, and within that category, I thought everything was excellent. The bed was comfortable, the check-in service was excellent, and they even called me when I left my pillow in the room to let me know it was there. I was only a few blocks away and able to retrieve it. Easy access from the I-90 freeway and good location for tourist-y things in Mitchell.

Very happy with my stay at Coachlight

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Coachlight Motel. The reception was courteous, polite and efficient, as the desk attendant answered all our questions and provided guidance on the town's history and culture. We love vintage  motor lodge-style motels, and the Coachlight has been lovingly maintained by the same family for 50 years. A real gem!
