The Brumder Mansion

Julie and Tom were great and very friendly. Had a wonderful time. Food was very good. Stayed in both the George and Emma rooms. Both had their own uniqueness. Area is a little shady but still felt safe.

Me and my Husband stayed at the Brumder Mansion after we got married! Tom welcomed us immediately and gave us the history, I also knew some historical things as I did some research a few times on this place! He answered everything and elaborated on questions we had! We stayed in the Marion, which was beautiful! He also made us feel very comfortable and had a very awesome personality!! Julie was very sweet, warm & welcoming as well! We did a few spirit box sessions and recordings while there, as we are really into paranormal! We reached out to several spirits helping quite a few which makes us feel good!! Room was clean, home was absolutely stunning with Victorian vibes!! We had access to beer, wine, ice , tons of movies.  You just felt at home here! Breakfast was served to us in the morning and was absolutely delicious!! Definitely recommend anyone to stay here! We definitely will be going back for another stay real soon!!

To be fair it is my first experience but after this one I do plan to do more in the future with my wife.  I will for sure come back to this location but with a bigger group.  

Upon entering we were welcomed by two gentlemen by the name of Tom, one of which is the owner.  We were given a tour of the house with knowledgeable facts about the history of the property ( I wont share any details because it's best to experience this for yourself).  Its a beautiful approximately 8,000 sqft property and the majority of the  design/woodwork are the original.  There is a modern AC system which can be controlled in every room which we were thankful for.   
There are two parking spots in a secure location behind the property otherwise you can park on the street if you prefer to.  It is in a growing part of town, if you are not from the area rest assured it is not in a bad area at all.  I will be sure to add some photos later.  We did not experience much paranormal activity but it was only one night so maybe next time.  

The staff members are all very polite and available for any assistance.  the hospitality is phenomenal here.  upon waking up we were invited to an amazing breakfast.  ( I will post pictures when I can)

We stayed here for a night with some friends and had a great time.  Altogether I think we had most of the rooms for our group, as I didn't see another guest the night we stayed here.  The rooms were all lovely, very ornate and definitely Victorian style, but still very clean and well-kept with modern amenities.  All of the staff were friendly and helpful as well.  The complimentary cookies and beverages were a nice touch.  Breakfast in the morning was terrific and the portions were just right.  We had previously been here for a show in their basement theater (which was also great), but this was our first time staying here.  Overall is was a fun stay for all of us.

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel!  It was so beautiful and welcoming!  We have already recommended to many friends!  Thank you for a great weekend getaway!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Brumder Mansion.  We were given the utmost care regardless of our 4:30am departure.  We enjoyed breakfast, and breakfast "to go".  We were given maps and special directions of the city around the heavy construction.  No doubt we will stay there again.  We enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers at Miller Park, dining at Mader's Restaurant and taking the Lake Express.

This is an amazing place!!  It’s like taking a step...a big step...into the past. We loved it. Going back in October.

Tom (innkeeper) was great. Very helpful with recommendations for places to eat etc. Great breakfasts & the history tour of the home was fantastic. Great time and lots of fun.

My husband and I stayed here one night.  It is a beautiful place, lovingly maintained. I'd read reviews about it being located in a bad area.  That wasn't our experience.   We didn't feel afraid.  It seems to be a diverse, lively neighborhood.  We were also pleased to be able to park behind the house next door.    Julie, one of the owners, was very welcoming.  She took the time to talk with me about the odd things that she's experienced in her home.  Tom, the innkeeper--not to be mistaken with Tom, the owner--gave us a tour of the mansion and also made us a killer breakfast in the morning, which we enjoyed in the lovely breakfast nook off the dining room.  Besides being delicious, the portions were perfect.  The coffee was great, too.  Among the amenities we enjoyed were a whirlpool tub, a refrigerator on our floor stocked with water, pop, and wine, and a plate of homemade cookies. There were only a couple of downsides.  There was no cable.  I missed that.  They do have an immense library of movies on DVD and we ended up being entertained by watching Freevee.   The air conditioning--which I was glad they had--was quite noisy.  It sounded like the wind howling out on the prairie.  I turned it off at one point to see if it was, indeed, the source of the noise.  It was.  To be fair, it didn't bother my husband at all.  We had a suite, so I slept in the adjacent room and was happy as a clam.  Beds in both rooms are very comfortable.  Unfortunately, we didn't have any paranormal experiences, but it was still quite a nice stay.  I'd wholeheartedly recommend a stay at the Brumder--especially for folks who love history and are interested in the paranormal.

Much to like. . .

Our room was at the very top with challenging stairs. Once there, it was lovely with an excellent whirlpool tub. A little fridge on the middle floor is well stocked with beverages and there are cookies too. The breakfast was very nice with the best coffee we had on our entire trip. The hosts were helpful and accommodating. Reason for four stars instead of 5? It’s on a busy street in an iffy neighborhood with only on street parking. Saturday night was hopefully fireworks… There are no outside spaces like a garden. The house is up on a small hill with tipped walkways. However, would stay again.

Very good but iffy neighborhood

I could find several things wrong but, also several things great. It's what you look at.
First off I'll say the owners and Inn keeper were extremely nice and helpful. To stay in a historical mansion is a cool experience.  The wine, beer, water and cookies were a great perk! Morning coffee and breakfast were also good. The woodwork and tile work in this home is beautiful. 
This is obviously an old home the floors creek and dust happens. Nothing to complain about but, know what to expect. 
We stayed in the Emma room. The motor on the hot tub was so incredibly loud we turned it off. Same with the electric fireplace. We turned it on for ambiance while we were in the hot tub and between the two we couldn't hear each other talk.  Also, The bed was very uncomfortable to me. My husband slept fine and I tossed and turned all night.
I wasn't aware that this is a known haunted home.  In the middle of the night I felt someone tickling my neck, I jumped awake and chills shot through me. My Husband was sound asleep. In the morning I googled haunted houses in Milwaukee and saw a TV interview the owners did.  I didn't feel any dark energy but, I did feel a presence. 
This is my experience I wouldn't  say I don't recommend it or I recommend it.  I'd say it depends on the experience you're looking for.

Upon entering you're greeted by The Innkeeper Tom who gives you a really fun history lesson on the house including some illicit activity which I will not mention, you must go to experience it!

The rooms are super ornate The Parlor and the library with gorgeous antiques and a beautiful Tiffany Glass fireplace in the dining room
The owner Tom is quite interesting with a lot of variety in his background and a love for this mansion.

Maybe you may experience a ghost, who knows.

The neighborhood is so so but go walk to the Shrine center next door, it is fantastic.

Historical, mysterious and theatrical

Very  enjoyable experience! We stayed in the George's Suite, and was nice to have two rooms within the suite. The Innkeeper, Tom, was wonderful, very welcoming and we really enjoyed the welcome tour! Breakfast the next morning was great as well.  The area surrounding the mansion was a bit out of the way and run down, but nothing terrible at all. All in all, great stay and would recommend for a nice B&B experience.

Friends Trip to Milwaukee

My husband and I came into town for the Kenny Chesney concert. The Mansion staff was great. Our room was very spacious, very clean and it was nice going to sleep without people running up and down the halls making noise like our last stay at a local hotel. Breakfast was great and I would definitely stay again!
