Hotel Barcelona

A year ago, we stayed at the Barcelona (visit #3) and did not have a good experience. Poor management had led to a decline in basic services. But what a difference a year makes. Ignore an earlier rant and check it out: outstanding location (near Lincoln Road Mall, Espanola Way, Collins and Ocean Avenues). Buses along Washington Avenue take you north to Aventura Mall, south across to Miami. Just three blocks from the beach. While close to restaurants, bars and shops, the Barcelona is located at the edge of a safe and quiet neighborhood. Kitchenette includes good size refrigerator, microwave, two burners, toaster, coffee maker and dishes, utensils and cooking implements. Even a wine bottle operner! We always ask for a room on the 2nd floor, wanting to avoid the sound of people walking over our heads. This is an older building, so has its quirks. Not fancy, just a great deal.
