Comfortable bed, spacious room, beautiful property, with a lot of parking.

This is a gem of a hotel.  Beautiful lobby.  Great market with unique snacks.  Free onsite parking.  Comfortable rooms and super kind and attentive staff.

The hotel was great. It would be better if breakfast was served automatically, without having to order the night before.

Great location for spending a night or weekend.  Lots of shopping and food options nearby.  Love that it's a dog friendly hotel!

Staff friendly and at the restaurant.  Love the bathroom products and quality of bed linens. I am usually there once a month on my own or with my husband.  Perfect location for us.

Catching up with friends in Brunswick and wanted comfort, access to 555 Restaurant and downtown (walking distance), and dog friendly. The Federal is the perfect spot for it all. Walk down Water Street to trail and dog park. Ideal.

Our room was lovely. The idea of the "to go" breakfast was great, especially if it keeps the cost of "room service" down. We didn't mind having to go to the front desk to pick it up, but my husband's "Danish" was tiny. The hotel's location makes it quiet and convenient to downtown Brunswick. All in all, we enjoyed our weekend!

Great find in Brunswick with a lot of charm and nice clean rooms. Excellent location of Main Street within walking distance of almost everything.The hotel seems to have a great restaurant in 555 North, but unfortunately the restaurant is only open for dinner after 5:00. It is a shame as the one thing that is missing from the hotel is a proper breakfast in the morning.Unfortunately the central heating in our room wasn't working, something that must have been like that for a while and they were using a portable AC/Heating Unit for climate control that was quite loud when on high which is what you need to have it at to properly heat the room.

Great find in Brunswick

What a beautiful little hidden gem! So pleased that I took a chance and booked this place last minute. The front desk staff were delightful. The lobby had several places to sit and relax if you wanted to escape the room for a bit. The restaurant on site 555 is outstanding! Told my husband I’m already planning a trip back!

This was just a quick one night stay. The pluses were that it was an update large room with good temperature control. I thought they lobby had a cool vibe - loved the decor. Although the bedroom was updated, the bathroom was not. We were on the backside of the hotel and you could hear freeway noise all night. Also, no coffee in the room but instead you go to the end of the hall. It’s the first thing I do in the morning so I slipped out there in my pajamas and of course ran into someone - just wish there was a maker in the room. No ice machine on the floor, so instead you go to the lobby and there is a freezer in a room with individually bagged ice, which was more than we needed so somewhat wasteful and the plastic bag was unnecessary.

Good for a one night stay

My husband and I arrived to The Federal with a warm greeting and beautiful accomendations. We met our relatives for dinner downstairs and everything that was served was excellent. The tomato watermelon gazpacho was to die for! All the staff were super friendly. The beds were comfortable and our room was very clean. I have nothing negative to say except the coffee pot was running low in the morning, but I am sure they took care of that soon after my husband walked away. . Don’t hesitate to book here.

We had never been to this hotel before, so we weren't sure what to expect.  We didn't realize that the hotel is literally right off the highway. However, we were pleasantly surprised just how quiet it was in our room which basically faced the highway.  On our first night, we ate in the hotel's restaurant.  Our immediate arrival did not go well, but after my husband spoke up the staff went above and beyond in trying to make it right.  The signature cocktails and food were pricey but very good.  Our room was clean and pleasant.  The only downside was that the mattress was too hard, but that could be because we are used to a memory foam mattress. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely consider returning.

This hotel and restaurant, The Federal and 555, are by far the best place to stay and dine in the area!! All newly appointed rooms, everything well done, a fantastic restaurant (the 555 that use to be in Portland) And the prices are very reasonable. You get more than you pay for here. A Diamond in the Rough. Don’t go there because I want it for myself!!!

I found this comfortable since it is a central location to the friends we were visiting in Yarmouth.The room was comfortable but oddly configured and seemed overpriced. We paid $398/night before taxes and other charges for a King bed in a nice room away from the elevator.  It had an odd shaped bathroom, no view and hardly and not much in the way of in-room amenities (a teeny bottle of body lotion that worked for my hands, a bar of soap, a shower cap and vanity kit).  There were bathrobes but no slippers.That said, the staff were all lovely and personable and there was a nice lobby and other areas to sit in if you wanted to leave your room.

Very nice but felt overpriced

What an absolutely beautiful hotel, recently restored and renovated. Every detail was given attention to create perfection. The common spaces were exquisitely but softly furnished, the rooms were large and comfortable, wonderful linens and towels, robes in the closet, very carefully written and laminated instructions for TV and shower operation, the best wine openers I've every seen--the list could go on and on. The room, closet and bathroom were large. Everything looked new although the hotel had been open for 2 years. The landscaping was well done, and the parking lot was large and convenient to a rear door and elevator. The hotel has a fabulous restaurant and bar. I can't wait to visit again.

MY favorite hotel ever!

We arrived at around 9 pm and in order to get to our suite we had to go up via a staircase (no elevator). We were not offered any help and in that situation and nor were we told about the staircase until we had schlepped half way there. The sheets smelled quite perfumed. Not our preference.
