We chose this place because it was the cheapest and closest place to Okemo for skiing. We went over MLK weekend so everything else was either booked or overpriced. Quite simply, it got the job done. My girlfriend and I really didn't feel safe at first; however, we quickly got used to the atmosphere. The stairwell and top floor hallway smelled bad, but our room not so much. We brought a candle and our own linens, which I would recommend doing for anyone who has to stay here. I was impressed by how quickly and nicely they cleared out snow from the parking lot. The shower was pretty gross and the water was not drinkable. The room's HVAC didn't work and the walls were paper thin. There was a small mini fridge and TV, but no microwave. There was unprotected WiFi, but it was very inconsistent. We came prepared, but as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for!

Cheap & Sketchy - But it Works!

This Motel was beyond gross. We stayed here to save money not realizing how bad this place was. We killed cockroaches on the bathroom floor and they were still there dead on day 4! Finding the hypodermic needle above the door casing was disgusting. This place should be closed down! Don’t stay here if you have a choice!

The grossest place I have ever stayed

This place is the pits. Dirty, ruin down, falling apart, inside and out.  We travel a lot on business and this place is horrible.filthy, stains on carpet, bathroom is a dirty wreck.  Furniture falling apart.  This is a 1 on scale of 10. You may want to save a few bucks but you deserve better than this place.

Stay away, worst hotel ever....super low OLD hotel

The only reason we stayed at the Happy Trails Motel was the fact we had failed to plan for the crowds during the Columbus Day weekend and the fall foliage tours of VT and NH! The Happy Trails was the only location with a room for the dates we wanted. 

Both Priceline and Bookings should remove this motel from their sites. It is a dump. The rooms were not thorougly cleaned. The door is a sliding glass fixture that offers little security. The beds were advertised as two queen sized while in fact, two twins! There was obvious water damage to the ceiling tiles and we could hear water driping down from the room above. 

When checking in the 'pleasant' cerk kept reminding me that there was no refund and that payment in full for the entire stay was required. I can undersand why. The road crew guests had drunken parites and cooked outside their rooms. It was like I was in a third world. 

The place should be torn down and a Red Roof or Motel 6 or Super 8 be put into place. 

The WiFi was good but I had my doubts about its security. 

We learned out lesson and will pre-book hotels along the way in future trips!

Management clearly took advantage of the shortage of rooms to almost triple the regular rate. I would not pay more than $50 for any of the rooms and that would be only if I were desperate!

Only out of desparation

How can it be legal to run a hotel that is this filthy? Don't hotels have health inspectors?
The first room we were assigned smelled so bad, and I wiped the bathroom floor with a washcloth and it was black, exchanged rooms, the new room smelled better but was still filthy. These people don't clean, just change the sheets. I'm glad I brought my own bedspread and blankets.
