We stayed in two different rooms because one wasn't available the whole of our stay.  Both were very comfortable and attractive, as is the house.  We felt like we got a much better flavor of Lousiana staying there than in a chain hotel, plus the breakfasts were better.  The service is very good.  The location is also good to places to eat and to Cajun country attractions.

Very nice place to stay.

This is a lovely property with a spacious suite and gorgeous outdoor space for relaxing.  We had a gracious hostess who helped us get settled.  The location was in the corner of camellia was close and convenient to nearby shopping.  Our stay was finished with breakfast served in our suite.  Very nice

Day trip to Lafayette

This B&B was booked for us by our travel company, the website made the place look idyllic and we were both looking forward to our stay there. On arrival, the front of the property looked a little tired and the gardens in need of some TLC, there was rubbish in bushes and and half empty bottle of some ‘yellow’ fluid’ on the patio table - not very good first impressions. We were shown to our room which wasn’t in the main house it was the shack in the garden that looked in need of repair and some paint. The room,  allegedly shabby chic was more shabby than chic, the shower head was hanging the as shower holder was broken,  the wooden floor was rough to say the least, I could go on but I think you get the picture. We were offered a choice of two other rooms, one of which was not en-suite so we took the other option, which was not much better than the original other than the shower did work. 
Do not be led astray by the pretty pictures on the web, avoid this place at all costs.

Never again!

Bed and breakfast located at a crossroads, next to a busy street. Traffic noise in the bedrooms. Good but frugal lunch served late at 8:30 a.m. Wi-Fi stopped working at 9:00 a.m. The house is far from downtown. The only advantage is the parking next to the house. We were disappointed.

I wouldn't recommend it.

Katie runs the B&B with a lot of heart. She gave us tips on excursions and restaurants. Lafayette itself doesn't have much to see. Breakfast was great, only the shower was a little narrow. But that's because of the historic building and the little bathtub where the shower is integrated. The only downside is the location of the B&B: right at a big intersection.

In the Heart of Louisiana

Nice reception, lovely house, light breakfast and nice drinks available... large parking space available, wifi damage and TV lack of network, bed at the top decoration and nice furniture to discover this living room and kitchen available

The house is located at a busy intersection, which causes noise disturbances even at night. Our reception was dispatched without much attention. The good but frugal breakfast, scheduled for 8.30, was served with 20 minutes of waiting. This is detrimental to scheduled visits. The house is far from the city centre. Wi-Fi was not available in the evening. Apart from the free parking, we find it difficult to recommend this establishment.

A disappointing experience

Our room was immaculately clean! My husband commented that the bed and linens were very comfortable. The communication, the hospitality, and the ease of check in\out was the best we had ever experienced. We stayed in the cabin behind the main house. It was rustic, charming, and I’m sure historical, but it had all of the modern amenities that we needed and then some. We had fresh fruit and waters in our room upon arrival, and access to drinks in the main house. The main house is well decorated and appointed with local art, which we loved. And the breakfast… I’m not sure what we were expecting, but it was lovely! All freshly prepared… Scrambled eggs, locally sourced bacon, biscuits, local jam, fruit tart, muffins, orange juice and coffee. We even had avocado toast. It was like having our own private chef. I highly recommend the site. There are several rooms here to choose from, including a very large outdoor patio space that would be great to rent out for a reunion or small party. The location is excellent, close to River Ranch, located off of a main thorough fare with ample parking.

Excellent Stay!

We found this place on line and were so fortunate to discover this gem. Our hostess was friendly and felt like family. We reserved the "Lafayette" room upstairs. The authentic, original structure made us feel like we're visiting our grandparents as children. Our room was very clean and welcoming with a fantastic king sized bed, soft linens, plush towels and robes. The charming bathroom with clawfoot tub will be remembered. This morning we enjoyed a delightful breakfast on the cheery enclosed porch. We did hear car noise from the intersection but that was the only drawback  I recommend staying here!


Historic getaway 

My wife and I booked the Amalie 2 bedroom for a week when we came home to see family. My wife wanted a haunted experience and we weren’t disappointed. Beyond that, the house is very charming and the hosts treated us like family. The beds were so comfortable and everything was so clean! We’ve stayed at other places in Lafayette and none of them come close to T’Frere’s!
