Oro Grande by Summit County Mountain Retreats

We were 2 couples in Unit 416 for 5 nights.  Loved the 3rd floor unit because of the vaulted ceiling which made it feel larger.  Amazing view of the slopes of Keystone.  Nicely appointed, I liked it had 2 lounge chairs + the couch made for much more comfortable seating.  Nicely kept building, good pool and hot tub and inside garage kept the car warm.  Bed's were comfortable, but I would swear they were double not queen, I have never felt so tight in a bed,

We had a good stay at this location. The condo (416) was spacious and accommodated 6 easily. Well stocked, clean, organized. Nice pool, just a couple of minutes drive from the slopes. Mostly young people it seems, probably more geared towards the 20-30 year old young crowd as opposed to the family with young kids. Manager Jesse is responsive, I can recommend this place to young people, maybe not so much for families with young kids. If you want a value place, this is it and you can't find anything better. If you want high-end, maybe not quite.

Just picture this. Waking up, opening the curtains and enjoying a live postcard scene with the mountain in front of you with skiers coming down the slopes. Fantastic view. Apartment was very close (2 blocks) from Ski rental and 3 blocks from entrance to Keystone Ski Resort. Comfortable, spacious, nice kitchen. I went to Dillon to pickup keys and did groceries shopping there and then went to the apartment. I recommend this place. Better deal I found in this area for Dec 21-24th.

This was a great place to stay during our ski trip to Arapahoe Basin. It would be even more convenient for Keystone, however, we came late in April and Keystone had already closed. The upside of being so late was the building was basically deserted so we had the parking and pool to ourselves. The condos are privately owned and individually rented by Wyndham or other resort companies. It does not have a front desk so check in is done in Dillon down the road. Fairly easy to retrieve the keys and check out was simply leaving the keys on the kitchen table.

Since these are condos and not a hotel, there is no attended front desk or cleaning every day. The upside, however, is that you get a private apartment with large bathroom, living room, kitchen, bedroom and balcony. Breakfast entailed going to the grocery store and we ate dinner in one night as well. There is an indoor heated pool and hot tub on the first floor that was spectacular after a day of skiing. The view from the balcony was also stunning. 

One down side we found, however, was that our room was parallel to the highway and could be very loud at night when a semi truck passed by. Overall, however, this was a great way to spend our vacation. If we ever come back, we'll definitely look at Oro Grande.

This is a lovely property and we very much enjoyed staying here as our base for skiing Keystone, Arapahoe and Brekenridge. However don't bank on walking to Keystone skifield from the condo - it's too far and awkward to get to - we drove. 
The condo had everything we could wish for and the contents were clean and well kept. Particularly appreciated the slow cooker which I used so we had cooked meals on return from the slopes.  Inside garage parking a real bonus. Nice hot tub. 
The only negative was very low lighting at this condo- had to buy stronger light bulbs so we could read in bedroom and see our dinner at the dining table!
Otherwise a delightful property.

Great Ski Condo

Good place VERY close to the slopes of Keystone

When booking this place looked great for our needs.....but after paying and getting checkin info we found out the pool was closed but yet there were people swimming but our key cards would not open the door. 1 of 3 of our cards worked at all.They said there was parking for trailers and showed a large parking lot but thats not the one for trailers we had to park about 2 miles away and walk back.  The unit was clean and nice and comfortable but the AC did not work thank god they had fans and the neighbor to the left was out on the balcony smoking pot so we had to close the door.  Not bad for the price if everything they advertise was true.

We rented this unit directly from Summit County Mountain Retreats expecting a nice place to stay for our party of 8. Let me start with the positives first. 1) Beds in the rooms were comfortable. 2) Good amount of space for 8 adults to share. 3) Keystone is closes 4) Decent furnishings although they are showing age and wear. Now the rest of the story. The minute we opened the door my overall expectations started sinking and never recovered. There was a weird smell (unclean carpet or the smell from the food splattered on the kitchen walls?) and the sleeper sofa was half apart in the living room. There was no note or message mentioning management knew of this problem. I called immediately to report it and get it repaired so we would be able to use it that night. They said they would send a maintenance person over. As we waited I thought we could start getting settled in for our 5 night stay. We noticed  things in addition to the sofa bed that made this place feel like a dump. 1) Weird smell in unit 2) Food splatter on walls in kitchen 3) Missing (not burned out, actually missing) light bulbs in unit 4) Broken lamp bulb in bedroom and glass in carpet that we could have stepped on  5) Missing glass shelf in refrigerator which made for a challenge storing food.  So the maintenance guys show up and couldn’t fix the sofa bed. After a battle they were only able to stuff the bed back into the frame and put the pillows back. We were out one key bed for our entire stay. Here is the worst part of my experience. I called Summit County Mountain Retreats the next morning to let them know about these things, the office said they were sorry and they would get back to me after they talked about it. I waited and it never happened. Talk about feeling like someone got what they wanted from you ($) and could care less what happened afterwards. Terrible customer service. They could have provided a blow up bed since the sleeper sofa was busted. They could have sent someone over to clean the walls in the kitchen while we were at the ski hill. We got nothing, not even a phone call.  We had fun on the slopes but this was the worst experience our family has had in all of the years we have been coming out to Colorado to ski/snowboard. If you are renting in the area I would think about something other than #OroGrande306 and #SummitCountyMountainRetreats #scmountainretreats
