Buffalo Lodge by Summit County Mountain Retreats

I loved staying at the condo, only thing I could “complain” about was the king bed is getting a little wore out. Maybe time for an upgrade. Other than that amazing and amazing area!!!

Great place. Super nice lodge. Great location.

Overall, our stay was 5 stars, the only disappointment was the elevator to the garage was out of service. We had already off loaded our luggage in the garage so we had to push it up the ramp, go to the outside ramp and then use the inside elevator. When leaving we parked outside so we only had to push the luggage cart down the handicap ramp.  It was a minor inconvenience.  The rest of the facility was amazing.

Great lodge, clean and plenty of amenities nearby. Plenty of garage parking, however didn’t give 5* due to elevator to parking garage being broken which made things difficult. Also note pool in nearby Dakota lodge closes at 8pm not 10pm as reservation stated. Otherwise recommend.

We have stayed at Buffalo Lodge before and loved it, that's why we came back. The building is conveniently located within walking distance to Gondola One and right next to the skating rink. The furniture is a bit run down but we didn't mind since the place was spotless when we arrived. Overall is a great place to keep making memories with the family.

The is our favorite unit rented after staying at Keystone many times, especially if you are a family with kids!  

It is a 3 bed, 3 bath unit with an in-house washer/dryer on the 2nd floor of Buffalo Lodge.  Unit is clean, spacious (appx 1500 sq feet), and the management company (Summit County Mountain Retreats) has been excellent. It comes equipped with a cool mist humidifier for each bedroom, lots of DVDs, board games, and plenty of extra blankets, pillows, and towels.  

The views of River Run are great from the unit, and there is a small balcony off the living room which is a fun place for the kids to enjoy the snow without you leaving the unit. And it is a 2 minute walk to ski school check-in! 

Nice lodge! Has hot tub. Near shopping and ski area! Rooms are great! Our condo was very spacious! Lobby is small but nice. Pool table for folks to play. Front desk was not open at all when we were there. 

We came for a family wedding and loved the place. It’s small but feels roomy because of the design. Our studio condo was very well designed and appointed.  The beds and other furniture were very comfortable. And the staff were very kind. 

Great stay and perfect location. The property was a bit tired and could use some TLC. Looks like it has been a while since any updates had been done to the condo. Overall perfect for a weekend stay for the event we attended

Clean, comfortable, and centrally located...with exceptional views. Great place BUT the baseboard heater looked like it had a major leak under the couch and on the carpet (we went in the summer so no heat needed). The company managing these rentals is easy to find and get your key cards, however-big however, it is a bit of a riddle to find the location of the lodge and is difficult to locate as there's no written location of the lodge in the forms. You have to look it up in your email which is not convenient. The address should be in the paperwork that is picked up.

We've been going to Keystone for 22 years, love it. This was the worst condo we've rented. The couch is very old and uncomfortable, the dining room chairs are torn, we had to keep defrosting the frig to get it to work, the carpet in the bedroom is a tripping hazard, maintenance did not come back to help, the tv is going out and we had to keep working on it to get ot to work, etc. Very disappointed! Had a great time in Keystone, would not recommend this condo though.

Disappointed

Room #8398.  Very conflicted about this property.  The elevator from the parking garage to the first floor did not work from the day we got there to the day we left.  The elevator from the first floor to the upper floors quit working during the last night of our stay.  Overall, the place is nice but the cleaning of the rooms under furniture and the beds left a lot to be desired.  The property in general is quiet.  The walk to the lifts is about five minutes.  A lot of the onsite businesses are hurting bad because they just can't find kids to work.

Excellent!! Unit 8344

We go to Keystone often as season lift pass holders. When you reserve through the resort lodging system they lump a bunch of properties together into the same class that they call River Run Condos. But you can request one of the specific properties, and if you spring for the premium unit level you likely have a better chance of getting the property you want. This review is for Buffalo Lodge, standard 2 bedroom unit.

The accommodation was really quite nice. It is right across close to the check in area, small ice rink, and the town center. But it is a bit set back from the main area so that it doesn’t get too loud from the local restaurants and bars at night. The unit had a nice decor, comfortable bedding and access to a “club” area that included a couple (well worn and somewhat broken) pool tables, television and (very basic) hot tubs that overlooked the main resort parking area. The views were of the parking area from our unit, but it was quiet.  

The 2 bedroom unit had a master bedroom that was quite large with a connected bathroom. There was no divider between the sleeping area and bathroom area other than the toilet had a door, so you better be on a very close basis with your bedmate. Then there was a second bedroom and separate standard sized bath. 

As I have experienced in the past with Keysight lodging company, housekeeping didn’t leave enough towels or facecloths and the unit was not vacuumed well. Because I stay on-property at Keystone often, I remembered they changed to a 10AM check out. That REALLY irritates me. But it was the night of the time change for daylight savings so I asked for an extension to the 11 AM check out and that was honored. So that was nice at least. 

A good thing about reserving through the Keysight lodging company is that they let you stay parked on site with card access to the building (not room of course) until 4PM on day of departure. So that was good to not have to move the car.  They also include some perks like kids 12 and under can ski free, free entry to the Keystone Lake skating area, free entry to the Nordic ski area, free hours of tennis, and yoga. So these are nice if you have kids and like any of these perks. 

Overall, The Buffalo Lodge was nice enough. I prefer Dakota and The Springs, but it was good enough.
