The place is a dump. We stayed in unit #7 on the 3rd floor. Narrow steep steps up to your room. About $1400 for two nights. The bed was so old and worn out you sank a foot into it when you layed on it. Cheap blinds that don’t work or were broken. Wall air conditioning didn’t work so they had another one that sat on the floor in the way. Next door neighbors AC unit was was very loud and ruined any peace or solitude you might get sitting on the rickety deck. No ice machine. I called to find where to get ice and they told us to go to the Curry Mansion across the street to get ice. The Curry Mansion is blocks away. lol. Pool area is filthy. Left over beer bottles and towels laying around. Furniture in the room and pool area is cheap plastic. Bugs in the bathroom. Check in is very late at 4 pm. Check out is very early at 10 am. No employee is there to restock supplies or clean common area. Do not stay here.

The room was very clean but small for the price. Paint is chipped from whe walls and ceilings. The bathroom was well down but very small. The shower was too small to be used. No one on site to explain anything regarding breakfast and was none. The pool appeared to not have been cleaned for quite a while.

The place has clearly gone downhill since it turned Airbnb. The entire building smells very bad. We turned the AC unit on and it spewed dust everywhere. The people next door were chain smoking, although it’s no smoking now, but there is no one to enforce this. Would not stay again. The average rating I’m giving is because the bathroom reno is nice.

House was not like advertised. The property was not very well maintained for being old. No central A/C, they used window units that ran 27/7 to keep the temp at 70 degrees. No A/C in the extremally small bathrooms.  All the doors and window(many) leaked air, so more hot air coming in. I had to clean the pool area twice myself (leaves in the pool and lizard poop on the deck). Gutters were full, so when it rained the porch and grounds took a beating.  It had a kitchen area, that was off limits for use, so there went the money we spent on eating!! There was a problem with noise, first with a dog(no pets allowed) and then some party people making noise till 3 am. The only bright spot is that the location was good!!! 

Poor stay for the money!!

This beautiful grand dame is no longer a bed and breakfast, unfortunately, and should be renamed as an Air BnB. In the friendly town of Key West, one would hope for a warm welcome by a real human especially for over $400 a night,  but no - this was a human-free experience from start to finish. Disappointing. 

On the plus side, the location is steps away from busy Duval St and the harbor, so everything was easy to get to. The room was spacious and clean with 2 sinks, and the bed was comfortable. 

On the minus side, the house is next door to a late night party joint - at midnight the music ramped up and didn't stop till 4am. Even with earplugs and a pillow,  the heavy bass was impossible to ignore. 

I heard the Curry House is under new management and I sincerely hope they make adjustments to personalize the experience for guests: add breakfast and happy hour, greet people upon arrival,  make it a special getaway worthy of the price tag.

Great potential but ...

The Curry House worked well for our Key West vacation, and was charming and a good value. It was just a 10 minute walk to museums, restaurants, and the water, and I liked that our street was quiet and not crazy night life. The room was very nice, altho not much on the breakfast. Coffee, and not even cream. No big deal, I just bought some half n half at the nearby grocery. We stayed in #1 and liked our balcony, which we shared with the next door couple. We left just as Hurricane Ian was coming towards the Keys. So grateful for our trip timing!.

Lovely Key West stay

Stayed for one day/night spring of 2022.  We can not say enough about the facilities and the pleasant staff. From a complimentary happy hour to an invitation to use the facilities after check out it was the best. Half a block from duval St with easy parking. Second stay and we will return. 

The Best

We stayed in room 1 of Curry House for 5 nights in mid February. 2 adults. The property is worn and is in need of a refresh. It was clean, staff very friendly when they were available. Our A/C was barely adequate in February -- the room never dehumified so I can't imagine it would actually be effective in spring/summer (we live in Georgia/South Carolina so we are very familiar with southeast humidity). We booked through Vacasa -- the fees were absurd and we paid $411 per night with fees and taxes (the Vacasa fees were more than the taxes). The location was decent, in a more quiet part of Key West, with easy walking/biking access to all the island has to offer. There was zero housekeeping while we were there (blamed on Covid) so we had to take out our own trash every day. Extra/clean towels were only available the first two days, not after that -- and with the humidity issues in the room, our towels needed to be changed more frequently.  An in-room refrigerator never got very cold, the room (due to the age and the fact it needs updating) lacked enough electrical outlets.  Room and bathroom (private) were small but that was expected. We had a balcony that overlooked the pool, which was nice, however, it wasn't weather protected from the top so it would be unusable in the rain (that's ridiculous in Florida, the balcony should have had weather protected ceilings). Only one chair besides the bed which made it a bit confining -- glad the weather was good so we could use the balcony a good bit when we were there -- which wasn't a lot. Continental breakfast is a rather generous description but the coffee was good. Overall, the place was just barely okay and for the price charged, that is not acceptable. I would not have chosen this location after reading the reviews but we were staying with friends and the poor reviews are accurate. We would not stay here again.

Expensive and Worn, Very Nice Staff

The mansion was decorated beautifully for Christmas. Phil was very friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious and clean. All restaurants and places to visit were within walking distance. Breakfast and drinks were included, yum!! I highly recommend staying here.
