This is my third time staying here, all in Haleakalā Cottage.  It is wonderfully appointed (including fresh eggs!) and clean.  A perfect place to relax or see sights.  A great location for traveling the Road to Hana or going up Haleakalā.  Note it is off the beaten path by a couple of miles but that makes it wonderfully quit with beautiful night skies. I highly recommend it.

We can’t say enough about our stay at the Huelo Point Lookout! The accommodations were top notch with added touches of fresh flowers and a thoughtful assortment of treats upon arrival. The property is absolutely stunning, and the perfect place to relax away from the crowds or use as a base camp to explore the Road to Hana or other North Maui offerings. The kind owners and staff were a pleasure to communicate with and readily available to ensure a perfect stay. We hope to return soon and often!

First off, I'm not a review kind of guy. However, our positive stay at Huelo Lookout Point has to be acknowledged. I wanted to find a place for our family to rest while we explored the Hana Highway for a few days. What we got was a private tropical getaway!

HLP is a family-owned business that takes pride in providing a comfy experience. We stayed at the cozy Star Lookout Cottage. It was a perfect spot for the three of us.

After a long day of twisty roads, we were greeted with a cottage full of flowers and treats to snack on and sip. We're not big on restaurants, so we loved that we had everything to make our meals. I loved having a beer while using the outdoor kitchen.

The best part was the privacy. Whether we were stargazing, taking the cliff walk, feeding the chickens or enjoying the hot tub, it felt like we were alone in the tropics.

On top of all that, the owners came to our rescue when our car battery died one morning. Their son came with a crew of his friends to help give us a jump. Our ohana sends a heartfelt "mahalo" to Sharyn, Jeff, and Kai. We hope to be back soon.

A fun stay for those who want seclusion.  Unique and comfortable. They even left us some edible surprises for when we arrived.

Hidden gem on the north shore of Maui!  Great getaway spot for a peaceful and relaxing Maui experience.  Beautiful cottages, breath taking views, and the best hosts!  The cliff walk is a must where you can see whales swimming off the north side cliffs.

This was our second time staying in the Rainbow Cottage, and apart from the ferocious winds it couldn't have been nicer.  And the winds were truly unusual - our first stay was sunny and mild breezes the entire time.  The fridge was well stocked with basic breakfast needs (coffee, creamer, sugar, bread, butter, jam) and the bed was comfortable.  We love the Cliff Walk, and did it several times a day.  We also enjoyed wandering the property to say hi to the chickens, and check out the fruit trees.  And, it lived up to it's name with a nice double rainbow one day!

We had a fantastic stay at Haleakala Cottage at Huelo Point B&B.  The cottage was beautiful and secluded, but stocked with all the basics we needed (loved the fresh eggs from their friendly chickens!).  The staff left us flowers to welcome us and contacted us to let us know the cottage was ready for check in a little earlier than we expected. There is a full kitchen, small library and very comfortable bed.  The hot tub was fantastic for star gazing after sunset - so many stars!  The only caution I would offer is that the road up to the cottage is pretty rugged - mind the request to drive slowly and watch for pot holes and rocks. We loved out time there and I would definitely love to stay again if we make it back to Maui!

My fiancé and I had a wonderful time staying in the Haleakala Cottage. The hosts provided so much helpful information leading up to the trip, they were available by email and text and responded right away, and they left us a bunch of welcome treats including fresh fruit and wine. The location is away from the hustle and bustle of the resort areas, which is just what we were looking for; and it is along the Road to Hana. We got a head start on other travelers. It was so nice to come back to the hot tub at night and wake up and do the cliff walk in the morning. As a newly engaged couple, it was a special stay that we will always remember. Thank you!

We just got home from a girls trip out there and rented out the entire Lookout home. It was fantastic. The views cannot be beat, the location is perfect (a little off the beaten path but well worth it). Everything is within a 30 to 45 minutes drive including several amazing beaches, hikes off the road to Hana and cute towns with some cute shops. Sharyn and Jeff were beyond welcoming, they even told us not to buy eggs because their chickens were laying so we were supplied with amazing eggs and even homemade bread. There is plenty of room to spread out for families and a full kitchen with all the ameneties making it easy to eat at home. I'm already planning a trip back next year with my family. Don't forget to take advantage of the private hot tub on each property!

Amazing property!

Are you the adventurous type? Maybe you’re looking for something other than a boring hotel room? Do you want the to live with the locals and get away from the tourists? Well get ready to fall in love with this gem! My wife and I stayed in the Haleakala cottage for our honeymoon and we couldn’t have been more pleased with our stay. We’re already itching to go back!

First of all the property owner is charming, witty and lovely to talk to. She made us feel at home immediately. They provided us with some local fresh fruit, eggs, coffee, bread and others goodies. 

Wi-Fi works great and you’ll definitely need it out there! We loved the outdoor shower, it added to the island vibe experience. And really, don’t worry about it being an outdoor shower. The water was consistently hot and will keep you warm even on a cold late night with high winds and rain! Our first night there was a tropical storm passing by and we were fine! The private walk to the cliffs is a great place to sip your morning brew and take in some early views. The hot tub worked great too.

We loved the Haiku area. You’re 4 miles into Hana Highway so it’s really easy to get to parks/trails from there. If you’re not in the mood to cook, nearby there are a bunch of great little towns with delicious food at reasonable prices. Also, gas prices are way cheaper on that side of the island.

A word of caution, staying here will make you want to sell your house, quit your job and move to Maui.

Are stay was absolutely perfect. My wife and I live on Maui and thought we knew all the hidden gems. Huelo Point Lookout proved me wrong and exceeded all expectations. The attention to details was beautiful. We were lucky enough to stay for two nights and had one rainy day that gave us an excuse not to go out and adventure. By far the best vacation day we have had. We were able to enjoy the hot tub and view and all of the amazing amenities. A true tropical country Wonderland.
