This is a lovely character property with quirky charm.  We spent a few days exploring the area during fall color season, which was beautiful.  The manager, Christopher, was very helpful in offering suggestions directions.  He also cooks a great hot breakfast - blueberry waffles - yum!  Thanks for a great stay, Chris!

I booked a room here for my granddaughters wedding , then I read some recent reviews and was a bit concerned, so I didn’t have high expectations. I was very pleasantly surprised when we arrived rather late in a rain storm and this very friendly fellow Chris greeted us immediately. He showed us to our room and we were done for the night. The next morning we came down for breakfast expecting at least coffee, not much else. He served a wonderful meal made to order. He indicated he’d been on the job only 7 weeks and he was loving his new position! Chris was so personable and I feel he will do well as the Inn keeper here.
I would definitely recommend this Inn and I believe you will be very happy and pleased when you visit.

We've been coming to the Benjamin Prescott for the past 20 or so years - usually for a long weekend in late summer or fall. We were a bit distressed last year (2022) to find that the new owner was not on site, as others have noted. But, we were delighted to discover this year that there's a  new innkeeper, Chris, who has taken over with great enthusiasm! Welcome, Chris!

We stayed in our favorite John Adams Suite on the third floor, and everything was great - clean, comfortable and warm on a chilly, rainy weekend. Although I'm too late a riser to have enjoyed it, Chris made my husband pancakes and other breakfast items that he raved about. I appreciated the fully stocked tea area and use of the microwave in the dining room - perfect for heating up my late-night snacks and beverages.

As always, the serene view of Sawyer Farms and the overall peaceful vibes soothed our overstressed selves, and provided the perfect backdrop for trips to Kimball Farm, pumpkin and syrup stands, and the shops of Keene. We wish Chris much luck in revitalizing our favorite NH escape and are already looking forward to next year's trip!   

We lived in Amherst NH, a few miles away, for 42 years and never had the occasion to stay at this inn. A couple of months ago we drove up to visit a friend in Peterborough and decided to stay overnight at this inn. What a nice experience - classic BnB atmosphere. 

And what a breakfast! Ruth's  breakfasts are prepared individually so it is necessary to specify which time you will be there. It is well worth it.

The location is convenient even for events in Peterborough. 

The price is worth it, particularly given the breakfast served.

We would go back in a heartbeat - and are going back in a month or so, and highly recommend the inn.

I stayed for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. The house was built in 1853 and still retains that authentic old-world mystic with the comforts of the present day. Each morning breakfast varied and each day it was delicious. The rooms were perfectly clean and the beds very comfortable. I can highly recommend Benjamin Prescott Inn.

upon realizing the Inn we stayed in on our honeymoon 40 years ago had fell into disrepair, we had te good fortune to discover the lovely Benjamin Prescott INN.From my first freindly phone conversation with innkeeper Ruth,to our warm goodbye, we felt welcomed, calmed and well fed. The 3rd floor suite was the perfect antidote to a long,arduous ,rainy drive. There is no doubt if we should return to this area ,we will visit Ruth and this Inn again.

The Inn and the property it sits on is stunning, offering beautiful sunset views. The food is made with love and you’re made to feel like you’re at home away from home. Our family of 5 had a wonderful time in the area with the help of the owner’s recommendations!

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights in Rachel's room. It was our first time in a hotel since covid. The room was spacious for two clean and comfortable. Ruth's breakfast was delicious and always decorated by an edible flower. The check in and check out processes was smooth. Jim was very kind to accommodat our late arrival schedule. The grounds of the inn is gorgeous. 

The location is surprisingly convenient. 12 minutes to Mount Monadnock, 11 minutes to Peterborough with lots of choice of restaurants. And only 6 minutes to the Mass Audubon camp.  Highly recommend and will stay again if in the area.

We lucked out and found this little gem a few days before we decided to do a hiking weekend in New Hampshire.  The only room available was Benjamin’s retreat, which was perfect for the three of us. The room was tucked back in the corner of the property near the barn. The location was convenient and the home and grounds peaceful, quiet and comfortable. Jim greeted us and showed us around. The breakfast, cookies and refreshments were thoughtful and delicious. Jim provided us with some information on local restaurants and attractions. We were quite pleased with our stay, the hospitality and super comfortable bed! Haven’t slept this well in years. Definitely would return and highly recommend if you’re looking to stay in Jaffrey!

This is a beautiful property with a very homey feel.  The service by the host was incredibly warm and attentive.   He not only wanted to make sure I was satisfied, he took my order for a custom breakfast the night before.

The only downside to the stay was the rooms were and furniture were showing their age a bit.  This is often typical at B&Bs, so just know to expect that for this property.

We had a nice stay here & loved the Saturday morning breakfast. Yummy waffles & bacon! The inn keeper was friendly & kind, our bed was comfortable, the rooms warm & quiet. We recommend it for a visit to the lovely Monadnock region.
