What a gem! Beautiful, well maintained historical property. Located in the heart of downtown Plainfield with lots of shops and eateries. Will definitely come back!

My brother and I had a great stay at the Inn while attending the 2024 Plainfield Homecoming. The room was cozy and inviting . The bathroom was stylish and up to date. It was a good idea to have a kitchen and have everything that one would need to do some cooking. Justin, we enjoyed our talk with you Saturday morning about the history of the Inn. We’re descendants of Chester Ingersoll. We enjoyed seeing the room that you named Ingersoll. It’s a good idea that you shared about the history of the Inn and how it grew along with the growth of Plainfield.Plainfield is a unique town that still carries its small town love for people, its proud heritage and history, as well as cultivating an atmosphere of kindness to all that stay even for a while to enjoy the beautiful scenic buildings and majestic rolling fields of corn and soybeans. Justin was super nice host and property manager and very responsive.  Place was beautifully combination of modern and vintage.  Just one block off a historic thriving street which was filled with family owned businesses.

We had a great stay . Location to downtown Plainfield was great. Stairs to go up to room are steep but this nearly 150 year old house is well maintained.Room was very clean and had plenty of room / space. Bed was very comfortable and private bathroom was great to have!Owner was very responsive and helped make sure our stay was a good experience.

A Cozy Inn with a Historical Significance

This was our second time staying here and it’s just perfect every time.  Plainfield is such a charming area ans we love being able to walk out the door and have our choice of amazing restaurants.  Also, Justin went above and beyond making sure we were comfortable and texted to check in with us.  The rooms are nice and cute and clean with everything you need.  We will definitely be back!

This historic inn was just beautiful and well appointed.  Once I was able to sort out the "system" of codes to get in and out of the buildings and rooms, it was GREAT to not have to worry about a key.  I booked a large group of family to attend a wedding just around the corner from this inn and it was wonderful.  If you have a family gathering and want to have a lovely quiet stay, choose this inn.  The beautiful commercial street close by had lovely bakeries, coffee house and was charming.  The venue for our family wedding "Sanctuary" was around the corner and allowed for our elderly grandma to make it there safely.

This was a quick work/personal trip. The Inn was very comfortable to stay in, but a little difficult to work in due to the space and no work space. The bed was very comfortable, the shower was amazing, and I did not have any complaints during my stay. I would definitely recommend this place. The location is amazing, right off the square. The house was beautiful.

Spur of the moment

It is a historical site and all due respect is paid to a great job of restoration and still having great comfort. But I must say the shower was the best. It was like standing under a warm waterfall. We really enjoyed the Spangler room because of its many windows and Corner location. We had the usual problems figuring out the TV but had an immediate response that took care of everything. Probably one of the more enjoyable stays I've had away from home.

Nice property. Steps truly are steep and not deep so keep that in mind if stairs are a problem for you. Parking can be a little tight if the other guest are not in their lines. Walls are PAPER THIN. Can hear normal conversations from through the walls and down the steps. Can hear the TV through the walls on Low volume. If you are a light sleeper, look elsewhere. Even not trying to make any noise can bother other guest.Bed was comfy and nice large shower. Towels softer than petting a Chinchilla.

Beautifully restored historic homes. Modern amenities while keeping the historic charm. Justin responded to questions quickly and provided good detailed directions to help us find the property after sunset. He greeted us warmly when we arrived. We enjoyed our short stay and will be happy to stay here again.
