The inn keeper was fabulous. The rooms were clean and cozy. Will defiantly be back.

Our hostess, Rhianna was gracious and has great attention to detail. Our room was perfect. My partner and I spent a romantic weekend at the Iron Horse. The attention to detail made our weekend that much more special. We will definitely go back.

We stayed overnight in the ground floor Victorian Room.  It was beautiful, as were the sitting room and front porch.  Rhiannon was wonderful, great communication, gave us all the info we needed to make our stay so comfortable. Also a fireplace in the room but it being August in Missouri, no need to use it.  There was also a ceiling fan and additional floor fan and we were very comfortable overnight.   Fridge was stocked with apples, juices, yogurt, water, soda, cereal and tiny ice trays.  Yummy scones, muffins, cinammon rolls and bananas were waiting outside our room very early the next morning, lovely breakfast fare!  Plus books and DVDs in the main lobby, lots of choices of entertainment.  B&B located pretty much in walking distance of the town and there is a trolley stop across the street.  This was a best girlfriends' trip and we had a ball. Bed very comfortable as was the room and bathrooms (one has toilet and sink, other has sink, shower and tub. }  Just a lovely place to stay.  And bonus....I am a cat person and there were outdoor kitties lying on the steps, very sweet and loving (I have 4 cats at home so it made me happy to pet surrogate cats!)

My wife and I love the Iron Horse Inn. We usually stay every Fall, but with the current pandemic, we will wait a bit. But Rhiannon is a great hostess. She is kind, friendly, and quick to offer a good restaurant recommendation, which is usually within walking distance because the B & B is in a great location. We love getting the Happy Birthday emails from Rhiannon and she always seems to remember us as guests. One Winter we stayed there and there was an ice storm. Rhiannon was nice enough to let us stay late until the roads were treated and weather got above freezing. We always stay in the Victorian Room and it is super charming. We love the little touches, the pastries, everything. We have never been disappointed and I am certain you won’t be either if you stay sat the Iron Horse. Hopefully we can get back out there soon.

My wife and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary here in mid-December 2019. It was perfect! Hermann is such a neat, historic, charming little town, and the Iron Horse only made it better. It's a beautiful, old bed and breakfast run by a wonderful host, Rhiannon. We stayed in the Captain's room, which was so comfortable and cozy. Very romantic. The basket of delicious, homemade goodies outside our door in the morning was a perfect breakfast. The only negative was the bell across the street that rang every hour on the hour throughout the night and morning. I'm a light sleeper, so I heard it numerous times. But that's not Rhiannon's fault. Next time we come to Hermann, we'll stay in the Captain's Room again. We love this place.

My wife and I stayed here for our 30th wedding anniversary, and it was perfect. We stayed in the Captain's Room with a King bed. Clean, comfortable, and cozy. We loved it! Very charming place. Innkeeper Rhiannon does a great job of making you feel right at home. In the morning she left a basket of baked goodies outside our door for breakfast. Delicious. Plus, there was an assortment of items in the refrigerator for the taking. More than enough food for breakfast.The location is ideal. It's a short walk to the center of town, but it's not on a busy street. The only problem was the bell across the street that would ring every hour on the hour throughout the night. But that's not Rhiannon's fault.We highly recommend the Iron Horse Inn and hope to stay here again.

My friend and I stayed here for a girl's weekend. The location was perfect to walk around the beautiful town. The Victorian room accommodations were gorgeous  and perfect for two people. The food in the  fridge and breakfast basket were more than enough for the two of us. 

Nice Innkeeper a hot breakfast would be nice but all we got was cold stuff in fridge Very quiet

I brought my wife here for our anniversary and we stayed in the captains room. The room was one of 2 that is upstairs, so if you don’t like stairs choose a downstairs room. The innkeeper was very nice and had lots of helpful suggestions. The room and bathroom were nice and clean and a good size. The room has a mini fridge that is stocked with breakfast items and drinks. The breakfast provided was an assortment of local pastries and fruits. The location of the B&B is within easy walking distance to most points of interest in downtown Hermann. We will stay here again in the future.

Great Anniversary B&B 

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Iron Horse Inn. Rhiannon was so pleasant and sweet. She walked us through everything and gave recommendations for place to eat and visit. We loved everything about the Victorian room except the mattress ( it is very hard). We would definitely stay here again if they got new mattresses.

Beautiful Bed and Breakfast

We stayed for two nights to celebrate our anniversary. We had the Captain's room upstairs. We were fine with the stairs but if you have trouble carrying your bags up you may want to select one of the rooms on the first floor. I really loved this place and it was so close to the main area of town that we often walked to stores, restaurants, etc. The bathroom was very large and truly different as the tub/shower was right in the middle of the bathroom. They gave us way too much food for the complimentary breakfast items but I'm not complaining! I would highly recommend this cute little B&B.

So Cute and Quaint

Hermann is a delightfully preserved small town with a genuine German history and wineries, distilleries, brew houses and plenty of history for even the most ardent buff.  But no big hotels and lots of visitors.  So what did Hermann do? Rise to the occasion with more than a hundred guest houses and B&B’s. Those two nomenclatures provide very different services, so be careful.   And even among the B&B’s there is a whole lot of difference.  Why all this intro to my review? Because you need to stop and think about booking a really excellent one and rely on those who have stayed in a few and know when something and someone is very special.   The Iron Horse Inn is a small Victorian house owned by a true professional hostess who has turned the house (formerly built and owned by an original Hermann family whose daughter was a friend of  my mother’s) into a B&B where you feel like a family guest. Beautifully appointed rooms with lots of Victoriana mixed with some lovely contemporary art.  Rhiannon, the innkeeper, adds all the touches that we spoiled “moderns” require for our comforts.  Every little thing seems to have been thought of then she added the extras- night lights and tissues on both sides of the bed, a white noise generator, personal items in the bath, along with the expected fancy shampoo and lotions.  There are videos, books, and guides and mints and water in the hall and in your room a fridge stocked with all kinds of drinks, including milk and juices and sodas  and lots of water.. and a Keurig machine.  Add the freedom to come and go like it was your own house with a key to the front door and  your room door.  All this says, “Welcome!” We are glad you are here and want you to experience a little bit of Hermann hospitality.”  Although the rooms are like your own home-not a Holuday Inn suite-they are pretty and artistically furnished and cleverly updated to provide a huge jacuzzi plus a separate shower in one and a big claw foot tub/shower in another. We stayed in both.  Different nights. I didn’t see the third room.   If this wasn’t enough, in the mornings a basket of fresh pastries, scones and muffins and fruit arrives at your door about 7:30 am.  
We’ve stayed at other B&B in Hermann and some were ok and others were quite adequate with some great elements but this one covers all the bases and then some.  The Innkeeper knows how to make people comfortable.  What more could you ask?

Old friends house turned into a new friends house!

Absolutely amazing!  Check in isn't until 4 so our room wasn't ready yet but the lady was so kind,  let us do the paper work,  get the keys and put our belongings into the room. We returned after the wine tour to our perfect room!  Stocked with coffee,  creamer,  sodas, shampoos,  bathrobes,  juice, milk, apples oranges,  seriously EVERYTHING u may need or want!  The room was quite clean on beyond comfy!  Wonderful little deck where we sat and enjoyed our breakfast basket filled with muffins,  scones and bananas!  I truly can't say enough good things about our stay it was more than expected and perfectly perfect!  Sorry the pictures were taken as we were leaving.  Thank you iron Horse for an amazing mother daughter get away!
