Whispering Sands Motel

It was outstanding. Would definitely stay here again.

It looks like the hotel is located in a very tiny town.  But the staff were very professional.  I lost my ear buds and called the office.  They eventually found them and were very thorough in contacting me.

Good size, clean room. Desk staff friendly and helpful.

This motel was great. I was told my room was recently remodeled, so my room might have been nicer than others. Lots of towels that were refreshed daily. As was the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The body lotion at the sink was very helpful too. Being in the desert, my skin was dry the entire trip. Employees and cleaning staff were very friendly and helpful as well.

Extremely small town. Whispering Sands was wonderful place to stay. Very friendly staff and nice accommodations. The town had a great coffee shop that rivaled any coffee shop I have ever been to.

Perfect spot to make your way between Capital Reef NP, Natural Bridges and Arches NP

Great place to stay in Hanksville

We spent 4 nights at the Whispering Sands Motel, using as a base to hike in and near Goblin Valley State Park. The room is spacious, very clean and well maintained. The beds are comfortable, and the refrigerator is large for a hotel and has a small freezer that actually works. Though we didn't ask to have our room cleaned, they emptied the trash, gave us clean towels and replenished the coffee daily, which we appreciated. We had a few small requests for the office, all of which were dealt with promptly and cheerfully.The only small issue was the wood floors, which are nice, but also transmit sound from next door rooms when people arrive late or depart early (clomping of footsteps). This was minor and we'd stay there again.

We wished the housekeeper respect our "request" that we do not need the room to be clean by not placing the magnet sign at the front side of the door. We understand that they work hard to ensure the cleanliness of the bathroom, but we did not ask for it and we disappointed that they entered our room without being asked for.

We stayed here after visiting Capitol Reef National Park, and before heading to Moab to visit Canyonland and Arches.  The town and motel were very convenient for this one night stayover.  It's about a 40 minute drive out of Capitol Reef, in the direction of Moab.  The room was newly renovated, so everything was new.  The town is small with nothing around it.  It has everything you would need for a short stay: a few restaurants to choose from, a gas station and convenient store.  The staff was very friendly.For this type of stay, I would recommend this hotel.

Nice room and easy parking.  I slept great.  I especially appreciated that the air conditioner cooled the room down quickly and I could turn it off for a while and the room stayed cool.  I also appreciated the notebook about Hanksville with the name of the grocery store.  I bought food for the next day and they had everything I wanted.There were a couple of minor maintenance issues in the room that I didn't go to the office to mention.  The extra door lock didn't turn and the curtain was partly off the rod.
