This is a hidden, quiet gem. We loved our stay. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable and we loved having a porch to sit outside and have a glass of wine. It was too cold to take advantage of the public sitting area by the river but... next time!

Love this little town. The Glen Ellen Inn is a great find, especially for couples or a group of friends.

Very cozy and discreet. Perfect getaway if you have a weekend planned in the area and want somewhere quiet and calm to unwind after. Communicative and helpful staff, lots of great little touches throughout made for a great experience. Would definitely stay here again!

My daughter and I had a wonderful stay in Cottage 1. Very spacious, clean and delightfully decorated room. The little snacks were a nice touch. Walking distance from the market, restaurants and a French bakery. Will definitely come back when the weather is warmer!

Cozy and inviting. A perfect place to stay around Sonoma Valley! We definitely would stay there again and again!

This is an ideal weekend getaway. Self check-in, in-room hot tub and fireplace, and very close to several local wineries. There’s also a convenience store within a few hundred feet that has craft beer, wine, and basic grocery items (open until 11pm most days). Highly recommend.

Lovely view of the water and there are so many thoughtful little touches in the room. Really appreciated the snacks and the jetted tub was the highlight of the stay. Plus there's a fireplace and it's right next to one of my favorite restaurants, the Glen Ellen Star! Perfect little getaway

What an awesome, quaint, peaceful little hideaway!  We loved it.  Glen Ellen is a short drive to all the Sonoma wineries and t min from multiple great hiking trails.  Cant wait to get back! And the owners - Karen and Chris - are fantastic hosts and very helpful with great local advice!

Beautiful cottage on a beautiful property...and it feels like stepping into a warm fantasy retreat. Would highly recommend to visitors going to Glen Ellen.

WONDERFUL!  This Inn is a little gem.  We stayed in the cottages and it was quaint, very pretty, treats left snd extremely comfortable.  Our room had a refrigerator, jetted tub and a steam shower which was wonderful after a brisk walk around the town.  We can’t wait to go back (we were there in Jan) to spend even more time enjoying the property and patio.  Wonderful communications and the easiest checkin and out ever!   10/10 for sure!

The secret cottages are in a great location, perfect for a short stay in the tiny town of Glen Ellen. The proprietor is engaged and responsive. I stayed for 5 nights, which was a bit of a challenge as cottage #6 is small, a bit dark and not as functional as I would have liked. There is a lot of extraneous stuff in a small space and limited surface area for ones things. A few suggestions: please add towel hooks in the bathroom and replace one of the 3 benches with a small desk or vanity; counter space is needed to improve functionality. Also brighter light bulbs would be a nice improvement.

A nice place, perfect for short stays

If you are looking for a peaceful escape, the Inn and town of Glen Ellen is small and absolutely adorable.  We stayed in Cabin #6 and the host Karen couldn't have been more friendly or accommodating.  Everything you need is right in the space, with fireplace, jacuzzi, comfortable bed, amazing steam shower, coffee and a bonus of snacks!  A Michelin "bib gourmand" restaurant, the Glen Ellen Star is a 2 minute walk away.  We would definitely return.  Thank you!!!

The hosts have tried to anticipate every possible scenario for your comfort, and we were astonished to note the level of detail.  The steam shower option was a very pleasant surprise.  Decor was cozy and comfortable.  The property is lush and felt private.  This was an overwhelmingly positive experience, and the only negative that stood out was the shockingly loud sound of the toilet flushing.  Not a big deal during the day, but just hard to avoid waking your partner early in the AM.  =)  We would definitely come back!

First of all, everything about this place is  exceptional.  The rooms are beautiful and appointed with great care.  It is quiet and romantic, and the owner is attentive and super nice.  Also, the price is fairly moderate in a very expensive region.  We have stayed here twice, and we will definitely stay here again when we are in the Sonoma/Napa area.Second, I hardly ever write reviews.  I’m just too busy and it’s not my thing.  But the first time we stayed here I accidentally pressed on two stars when Expedia prompted me to write a review.  When I realized what I had done, I contacted Expedia to change my inadvertent poor review as a courtesy to the owner.  I actually spent almost two hours on the phone with Expedia representatives and they wouldn’t do it.  Shame on you, Expedia.  The only reason I booked our next stay through Expedia was so I could write this review.  My advice is to book your next stay directly with Glen Ellen Inn.  They are terrific.  Expedia isn’t.

I loved everything about this place. Feels very magical and has a very European feel.  Owners weee accommodating and went that extra mile with fresh water and treats daily. Smelled so clean, like bleach though not cleanser.  Sweet little area set up overlooking the creek.  Just loved it. And quite the bargain during high summer in the Sonoma area. Charming.

Our room was so beautifully decorated and every detail was taken care of. We loved sitting outside near the river and it was easy to hear a great music group singing at a cute place near us. We felt very well treated with snacks and delicious coffee, water, and all our needs were met. It is a very quaint place off the beaten track

The Glen Ellen Inn was a wonderful surprise! Pictures on line do not do it justice! Karen was amazing. Our room was clean and comfortable. The property is quite and secluded and very picturesque. Little steam in the back with beautiful tress that lead right into the sweet town of Glen Ellen. Nice drive to San Fran, Sonoma, Napa and the coast. Would highly recommend.

Excellent stay!

Karen helped us do a seamless check in since we knew we would be late attending BottleRock. Our room has to be the best cottage, quiet, secluded with a pretty patio area. Everything you need is within walking distance, a sweet French bakery, grocery store and several restaurants. The hiking at Jack London park is amazing! Really the best trails we have ever hiked on in California (and we're hiking enthusiasts that grew up. Comfortable beds and the best nights sleep too.We will definitely be back!

Best small town and inn

The Glen Ellen Inn is a great choice if you’re looking for somewhere to stay in the sonoma wine country. Very clean and comfortable. We liked having the extra space offered by both the living room and separate bedroom. There’s a nice soaking tub as well as a separate shower with steam/spa capabilities. Karen was great and provided us with several suggestions for dining options and wineries to visit. Be sure to take the time to research any wineries you want to visit. Several are only open Thursday-Monday.
