Beautiful Views Summit of Gatlinburg

Stumbled onto this property at the last minute. So glad we did!  Top of the mountain, view was amazing. Saw so many other places that did not have any thing near our view!

Amazing views from condo. Very pleased with stay.

The views are amazing of the mountains (when you are not in the clouds lol). Its perfect it your staying longer than a day or two. It has a full working kitchen that you can use. Our only downside to it is it has a smaller shower and I am taller and the shower head was lower. But it does not hinder the location in my option. We stayed in the studio which was perfect for us. Be aware you will be up in the mountains so be prepared for that drive.

Great stay.  Our condo was nice and clean.  Pool was nice.  People were friendly.

We stayed in Bldg 8 condo 8202, owned by Ron and Paula.  The rooms were spacious and the view spectacular.  We would definitely stay there again.  The ride up the mountain is a little hairy but after the first trip not so bad.

Stayed in the condo named Above the Clouds. It was a really nice, clean condo. Plenty of room for the 5 of us. The road getting there was a bit scary but after a few times, we got used to it. The views were amazing. We saw a momma bear and her 3 cubs a few times. If we ever go back there, we would stay here again.

As we pulled in our car in the parking lot, a black bear family popped out of a pickup truck next to us, which was cool. View from balcony was magnificent. Bathroom could use updating. Shower faucet wasn’t properly working, but overall the stay was pleasant.

The property itself is nice. However the specific room we stayed in was not like in the pictures. The pictures make it seem like a MUCH bigger room, however it was like a studio apartment.

I have stayed at the Summit 5 times, and each time I have had a positive experience there.  It helps to do your homework first.  There are no elevators, so choose a room that befits your ability to climb stairs.  Some rooms overlook Gatlinburg, and some rooms overlook the mountain chain.  Before you leave home, be sure your vehicle can climb a mountain.  Review a map and directions before you start up the hill.  Watch the curves for on-coming traffic.   But if you appreciate a great view, the drive will be worth it.

The Summit--yep, it is way up on the mountain.

I visit Tennessee at least once a year and this is one of the first places I check availability.  This fifth visit we rented a 3 bedroom for the first time; Building 4, wooded view.  The layout uses the space very well and the rooms are comfortable, but like all of the accommodations I have stayed in here they are somewhat compact and cozy.  The vaulted ceilings in the third bedroom really opened the space.  Two bedrooms on the first floor, one with a private bath the other bath is across the hall from the second bedroom.  The third bedroom is in the loft, up a spiral staircase.  It seems every unit here has a balcony, full kitchen and wood burning fireplace (free firewood on site).  The drive up and down the mountain is intimidating, but has improved quite a bit since my first visit to The Summit in 2005 - and you get a little better each trip.  Another thing to note is, depending on the season and reason for your visit, The Summit is so accommodating you might not mind limiting your trips into town - especially if your unit has a Mountain View.

Upon arrival we had an issue with the cleanliness of the room we stayed in but they made it right and that issue was quickly resolved day of check in. We expected the room to be dated but it didnt bother us a bit. Views were amazing and excellent customer service... we would stay again.
