My first stay at this Hotel was in the 1970 s. Despite numerous renovations I still like the Mid Century Modern interiors of the 1970s version best. In those days the style was sleek danish modern with ocean blue fabric and a sparce decor that was impeccable. It was the look of James Bond and Ray Ban sunglasses. This is the look the hotel should return to. It reflects the exterior style and is a favorite for all ages. The Mid Century Modern interiors are timeless. The location is the finest and no other Hotel in Fort Lauderdale can rival the 66. A water taxi away from secret beaches, Conch fritters and beer followed by an exquisite cheeseburger. It is heaven and you ought to go and visit. Try off season and enjoy being caught in a summer downpour that will leave you dried in an hour and on your way to the pool. Walking the docks at sunset is divine with the sound of a steel drum band in the distance and a cocktail in your hand. I love this Hotel.
