We (family of 2 adults and 2 children) went to fire island field 5 for the day. beach was phenomenal. Sand and Ocean were very clean. There is a playground, large washrooms with showers (cold water only which is really great on a hot day). We went swimming in the ocean, the water was warm and lots of waves. At this time of the year, There were jelly fish in the water (seasonal). We did get stung by jellyfish and it was painful but only momentarily…after that we stop swimming so We went to the restaurant on field 5 and We had the fried fish, shrimp and clams combo food in Field 5 and it was really good. Highly recommend the fried fish…it was the best!!! The walk from the parking lot to the lighthouse is a must see. It was a a wonderful walk, On the way back from the lighthouse we went along the beach and we came across 3 deer on the beach. They were not scared of humans. Highly recommend fire island.
