Emigrant Gap

This was our first time at Snowflower and it was exactly what we needed.  The camp ground was clean, the bathrooms were newly remodeled, fully stocked, and always clean.  We loved having the extra activities for the kids as well.  They loved going to play Pool and Basketball.  

Breathtaking Views

We are a full time RV family so our experience is a bit different than someone who comes for a week or less. We spent three weeks here and we probably would stay a shorter time next time. Our grocery runs were a full day project and there are only so many things to do for those three weeks. We did enjoy going to Truckee and Reno for some exploring (30 min and 60 min away respectively). After a week and a half, we needed some change of scenery for the kids so the drives elsewhere were needed. 

Verizon service was 2-3 bars, Starlink worked well and we were in the “Cliff” section which has minimal trees. WiFi is imperative for my job so we opted for a spot in the Cliffs. We probably could have fit in the Middle Fawn section but there is a lot of tree coverage so we had to pass to ensure we had internet. 

One weird thing is that everyone drives something electric here. This is our first stay in Northern California so maybe that is normal but we did not see hardly anyone hiking, walking, or biking. We did find some trails but there were a lot of dirt bikes, ATV, UTV, or trucks on them. 

The lake was beautiful and the beach was decent. Laundry facilities and bathrooms were clean. The lodge was great. Lots of fun games and space to run around. Our kids also enjoyed the playground. 

There are no sewer sites except a few in the front which I think are for staff. Not great but not a deal breaker for us. We just used our portable tank when necessary. 

My husband cycles and it was not cyclist friendly. Mostly gravel roads. 

The staff were very friendly, helpful, and nice.

Away from the city- great until you need something

I love the location and surrounding wilderness hikes available. The lodge was well kept and had some nice amenities. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The sites were clean and with the exception af a few without the electricity working was well maintained.

Wonderful campground

Beautiful setting, lovely lake and nice hike around lake. Thank you for Pickleball court as well. We stayed along the lake in F3 and loved the big spacious spot. If you’re using your Starlink for internet, make sure you pick a spot that is unobstructed to the East.

So many options, water sports, OHV , and Located next door to 
Truckee with all of its delightful activities 

Amazing Stay at this Hidden Jewel

It was a beautiful resort - it didn’t feel like we were piled up on top of each other.  The lake was lovely, too. 

The only problems were the evil squirrels!  They were going crazy throwing pinecones everywhere!


Beautiful Resort!

We stayed in a two room cottage and it was tiny, but perfect.  Little bunk room that my son loved, air conditioning and heat in the bedroom and living room.  It was clean and quiet.  Although our cabin had a bathroom, I did use the common bathrooms while out on a walk, and they were clean, with bathrooms and shower.  Down at the lake it quiet and a few trails lead off in different directions. Lots of shade from big pine trees, but also mosquitos so be prepared.  We took our dog and they left a bag with a towel, sheet and doggie treats in our cottage. 

Cottage - Small but perfect

The staff was friendly wherever we encountered them throughout our stay. Cleanliness across all facilities. The lake left us unimpressed and the sites where we were banished to at the top (guess we were the last to arrive because there weren't many left) we're not equally maintained and the power kept surging, though that may have been due to it being a holiday weekend. Would still recommend this area but don't forget your quad, motorcycle or side by side to get around because nothing is close together.

If you are trying to decide between bringing your kids scooter or bike, bring the bike. 
The beach is pretty small but you can hang out by the doc on the other side. 
Bring string lights if you have them, each site has electricity and it gets dark
Bathrooms are clean and stocked
Pool is cold, lake is warmer
Bring your fishing stuff, paddle boards, etc. lake is a bit small but plenty big enough.
Its a private lake so you do not need a fishing license, just a pass from the camp ground, that is reasonably priced and you need one paying adult for however many kids. They stock the lake. 
You CANNOT have a camp fire.  
You can bring your ATV's, golf carts, etc. 
Parking is easy. Our group consisted of 3 families staying at different sites, we were all able to park at one site, bringing the total vehicles at one site to 4. As long as we were not blocking the road it wasn't an issue for us. (a lot of camps limit the # of vehicles).
Online check in was easy.
Staff was nice. 
We felt safe letting our children ages 4-11 ride bikes, swim, etc. with little adult supervision. Everyone was nice and respectful. Camp staff enforced the 5mph speed limit. 

This was the first time staying here, the yurt was nice. The cabin was nice and trailer sites are nice. We had three families in our group all staying at different locations. We brought our sons scooter but should have brought his bike as there's only one place sufficient to ride a scooter, everywhere else is gravel or dirt. The pool closes at 5pm, the hottest part of the day. The community campfire was between 6-8pm, which it was still too hot at 6pm to be by a fire and barely getting dark by 8pm. 


Great Spot- Activity times are odd

The stay was excellent. We had everything we wanted for a weekend trip. Staff was very helpful and amenities were great. Bathrooms were good and regularly cleaned.
Will visit again and compltely satisfied with the stay :-)
