Family camping trip can't wait to go back.

This was our first time at Snowflower and it was exactly what we needed.  The camp ground was clean, the bathrooms were newly remodeled, fully stocked, and always clean.  We loved having the extra activities for the kids as well.  They loved going to play Pool and Basketball.  

I love the location and surrounding wilderness hikes available. The lodge was well kept and had some nice amenities. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The sites were clean and with the exception af a few without the electricity working was well maintained.

Truckee with all of its delightful activities 

We stayed in a two room cottage and it was tiny, but perfect.  Little bunk room that my son loved, air conditioning and heat in the bedroom and living room.  It was clean and quiet.  Although our cabin had a bathroom, I did use the common bathrooms while out on a walk, and they were clean, with bathrooms and shower.  Down at the lake it quiet and a few trails lead off in different directions. Lots of shade from big pine trees, but also mosquitos so be prepared.  We took our dog and they left a bag with a towel, sheet and doggie treats in our cottage. 

If you are trying to decide between bringing your kids scooter or bike, bring the bike. 
The beach is pretty small but you can hang out by the doc on the other side. 
Bring string lights if you have them, each site has electricity and it gets dark
Bathrooms are clean and stocked
Pool is cold, lake is warmer
Bring your fishing stuff, paddle boards, etc. lake is a bit small but plenty big enough.
Its a private lake so you do not need a fishing license, just a pass from the camp ground, that is reasonably priced and you need one paying adult for however many kids. They stock the lake. 
You CANNOT have a camp fire.  
You can bring your ATV's, golf carts, etc. 
Parking is easy. Our group consisted of 3 families staying at different sites, we were all able to park at one site, bringing the total vehicles at one site to 4. As long as we were not blocking the road it wasn't an issue for us. (a lot of camps limit the # of vehicles).
Online check in was easy.
Staff was nice. 
We felt safe letting our children ages 4-11 ride bikes, swim, etc. with little adult supervision. Everyone was nice and respectful. Camp staff enforced the 5mph speed limit. 

This was the first time staying here, the yurt was nice. The cabin was nice and trailer sites are nice. We had three families in our group all staying at different locations. We brought our sons scooter but should have brought his bike as there's only one place sufficient to ride a scooter, everywhere else is gravel or dirt. The pool closes at 5pm, the hottest part of the day. The community campfire was between 6-8pm, which it was still too hot at 6pm to be by a fire and barely getting dark by 8pm. 


The stay was excellent. We had everything we wanted for a weekend trip. Staff was very helpful and amenities were great. Bathrooms were good and regularly cleaned.
Will visit again and compltely satisfied with the stay :-)

Jenna was absolutely the best. She is super friendly and made our day. The views are absolutely stunning and loved all the trails we went on as well. The spaces are huge as well. We enjoyed our time so much it was so sad to leave. We definitely will be back over and over again for sure. 

We had the most amazing weekend at snowflower. We will definitely be back! Upon arrival one of the bathrooms was clogged however for the rest of our stay the bathrooms were stocked and cleaned. Will be recommending to our friends. 

I just did the review? not sure what this space is for, so I am typing in 200 characters. We had a great time in a great RV site. Because there are no sewer hookups we used the showers. We has fun on the lake with our kayak.

Cottage - Small but perfect

The staff was friendly wherever we encountered them throughout our stay. Cleanliness across all facilities. The lake left us unimpressed and the sites where we were banished to at the top (guess we were the last to arrive because there weren't many left) we're not equally maintained and the power kept surging, though that may have been due to it being a holiday weekend. Would still recommend this area but don't forget your quad, motorcycle or side by side to get around because nothing is close together.

Great Spot- Activity times are odd

Our site location was next to the water and it was fantastic!  Kids loved being able to fish on the lake and then run around the wooded area.  The RV spot facilities worked.  The only issue was the parking was a bit challenging due to the tightness but we did it.  :D Love this place, will come back again. 

As good as it gets

We live about an hour's drive away and visited a week before we stayed there.  We asked if we could drive around and look at the place.  I didn't get the name of the person who helped us, but he gave us a map and explained the different sites.  He shared how much he likes working there and couldn't imagine a better job.

When we got home we found there were openings for Memorial Day weekend so we booked our stay online.

Mentioned it was my wife and my second time RV camping upon arrival.  Lori and Dennis were patient with us newbies.  They explained what to do, how to do it, and when to do it.  There had been bear sitings and Lori explained what I needed to do with the grill to minimize potential issues (clean it, disconnect propane).  The campground spots are first-come first-served and she explained about small, medium and large sites, and which to use and which not to use.  Dennis was at the site we got (easy back-in) and just let me do my own thing; we were set after several attempts... arrrg!

We talked to them throughout our stay and we felt that they sort of watched over us (in a good way, from a distance... there if we needed help).  It was a wonderful stay, despite some rain, and we were quite grateful for the guidance.  Fellow campers were friendly and thoughtful.

Bring mosquito repellent, I got bitten within the first 10 minutes of setting up.  After using repellent, no issues.

Second Maiden RV Camping Trip

This "cabin" is really a single wide mobile home with kitchen (stove, microwave, coffee, but no oven), bath with shower, toiletries provided. Lots of closet space and nice queen bed, although bedroom is very small. The TV was decent with DirecTV and DVD player. The couch is a very uncomfortable full futon. The dining table seats two and is cramped with futon. There is a large barbeque and chairs on the porch for enjoying nature. Not too close to neighbors.  There is a community area with pool and outdoor games.

What could have been very good turned out to be a problem because of an infestation of aggresive yellow jackets near our cabin. There was a nice porch with chairs and outdoor grill on it, but because of the yellow jackets we couldn't use it.The management was going to put out traps, but by that time I had already been stung.None of the other cabins had our problem according to those I spoke to.

Nice clean cabin at RV Park

Unfortunately upon arrival we discovered that our room is not clean and the hardest part is that we were unable to make contact with anybody to rectify this but eventually the next day the staff was very kind and offered to help take care of the cost and make things right so for that we were thankful. A cabin type accommodation requires more attention then an RV site, so they should probably think of another way for people to get a hold of them if they check in after four. Absolutely beautiful grounds and the cabin we were in was really very suitable for myself and  my 2 children.

Communication difficulties...but all else great!

WE rented 2 small cabins and a Yurt. Great accommodations. Just as described. Cabins Have Queen bed and sofa bed. The only reason for not giving perfect rating was one of the sofa beds air mattress was not working. They plow every day and do a good job of keeping roads clear. Very Happy with our stay

We arrived never having stayed in a cabin rental. Everything was in the cabin that we needed. All we needed to take was the food. The cabins were in the middle of the forest with many chances to watch the animals play outside. The cabin was nice and clean. There were many opportunities to take pictures and the scenery was breathtaking. It was so much nicer than staying in a hotel room. We will be coming back here again and again. The smell of the forest was wonderful!
