We had a fantastic stay at the Triangle T Ranch ...we stayed in the Vanderbilt casita which was perfect with its Victorian styled furniture and lovely porch.   Dinner was in the bar that night and we enjoyed great ribs and brisket.  Such a great opportunity to meet Scott (the chef) and Linda (the owner). Breakfast was in the dining room and was also combined with easy conversation with Scott. The setting is remarkable and we were surrounded by huge rock formations and classic Dragoon boulders.  Only 60 miles east of Tucson,  but we felt like time travelers to a simpler and friendlier era.

We love this place and are going back this weekend for the Garlic Festival.  It is nothing fancy but the rooms are very comfortable.  We think the food at the saloon is good.  The surrounding Dragoon Mountains are beautiful.  Maybe not everyone’s cup of tea but we love it.  Everyone who works there is so friendly.

RV specific for review but will review ranch as a whole. Very nice time. This ranch sets in southern AZ within the Texas Canyon area bordering I 10.  You won't hear the I 10 noise as the RV sites sit far enough and behind enough terrain not to be a problem. RV sites are sand, closeness is not an issue, fairly level, FHU (what we stayed in), have fire rock rings (most sites), many but not all have picnic tables. We arrived and observed a day where the horses were released after a day of carrying patrons enjoying the horse trails/ranch and after being released were allowed to walk through the entire camp.  They were peaceful and only foraged for grass. They came within 20 feet of our RV but were never a problem and certainly added to our photo collection.

The ranch as a whole offers beautiful casitas, a dining room plus grill and saloon, but is seasonal for occupancy and availability.  Check ahead especially for dining and saloon hours as this is based on occupancy, Weekends are the busiest.

Overall, loved the hiking, seeing movie location to the original 310 to Yuma movie and knowing the location has been host to various famous western stars, John Wayne, Glenn Ford, Van Heflin, etc. from the 1950's era of western movies.

The park staff were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.  Will definitely stay again.  If you want the most spacious sites expect to pay the premium price but don't let that deter you from a wonderful time,

Over the  4th of July weekend, our hiking group had planned to stay at another location which had been closed by the Forest Service due to vandalism when we arrived.
We were close to the Triangle T Guest Ranch.  The owners were a bit surprised when 12 cars pulled in requesting lodging, but they happily accommodated our group.
We did not have water, or any cooking/eating utensils since we had planned on staying at a fully stocked Cabin but the owners brought us a picnic table, grill and picnic accessories.
8 people stayed and we were only charged $60 for the group site.  
We enjoyed the evening there and the pool, beautiful little Saloon and the grounds were a plus for weary people who had endured a "shocking crime scene" at the other location.

We stayed the Triangle T’s RV area that was supplied with all the amenities of power, water, sewer, WiFi, and even several small fenced stables to board your horse. There are over 150 acres of beautiful hiking trails, as well as part of an old 1950’s Western movie set from “310 to Yuma”. The Rock Saloon is charming and is nestled among huge rock boulders that are prevalent throughout the property. We felt like we were in the Wild West!

I attended a retreat at the ranch this past weekend and it was an amazing experience all around.  I was immediately greeted at the office, then escorted to Casita 2.  The weather that weekend was crazy cold, but the staff provided space heaters and it kept the room comfortable at night since I was always out during the day.  
The scenery is breath taking and I enjoyed hiking the grounds, taking photos, and picking up pieces of raw quartz along my hike.
The staff was attentive and friendly and Ms. Linda even allowed me to play the gong for the breakfast call on Sunday morning.

Different experience for us.  Great from the beginning.  Trail rides,  the best way to see the ranch., riding through the grand rocks.  Food (ribs) were outstanding, of course the Saloon added to the ambiance. Hosts Linda and Don absolutely genuine and knowledgeable. The room was very comfortable and cozy.  AZ wine country not too far away.

My husband and I visited this place twice and going back for Christmas. So relaxing and good rock hounding close by.  The owner Don opened up the bar just for us so we could see the rock the bar was build around.  Very impressed and going back soon.

The rocks are super.  Movie set info interesting.  Go on Saturday if not a guest overnight so you can visit the saloon, a highlight.  Allow time to study the mural in the saloon, hike to movie site and visit the Amerind Museum just down the road.

Wind through the entrance drive and read all the start who have been (many during movie shoots, I believe).  Includes the 'Highway Men!'

Quant compound of duplex arranged buildings spread throughout.  Names of famous guests also on the rooms (where they stayed?).  Saloon was classic looking and made for a great on-site holiday where we didn't have to leave for anything.

Wow - where do I begin?  This is truly a hidden gem - not only the facility - but the staff as well!

Nestled in the unique colcanic rocky terrain of south-eastern Arizona, the recorded history begins in the mid-1800s when it was discovered that this was the land where the mighty Chirichua Apache Chief 'Cochise' wintered his people, a practice that had apparently gone on for hundreds of years.  The property was acquired in 1874 by Texas rancher David Adams who named the area Texas Canyon.

In 1922, a portion of the property was puchased by Metta Tutt who named it Triangle T Ranch.  Given the unique terrain, she built a number of Casitas and outbuildings - and marketed it as a guest ranch.  It was frequented by the Vanderbilts, the Rockefellers and the Kennedy families .  
During WW2, it was temporarily re-purposed as a top secret a detention facility.  On December 7, 1941 - following the devistating attack on Pearl Harbor, Japanese people from the west coast were rounded up and sent to various internment camps further inland.  The Consul-General and his staff from the Japanese Embassy in Honolulu were summarily arrested as prisoners of war - and shipped off to Dragoon Arizona to likve at the Triangle T Ranch.  They were held for 5 months.  As high profile dignitaries, they were traded following the end of hostilities for US prisoners of war.

Then came the Hollywood Era!  Any actor worth his salt would ultimately pay his dues at the Triangle T - including John Wayne, Roy Rogers, Gene Autrey, Steve McQueen, Clark Gable, Clayton Moore, Jay Silverheels, Will Rogers, Gene Hackman, Rex Allen and the list goes on. 

Today, this picturesque guest ranch plays host to the Annual Garlic Festival in July and a number of locally supported events throughout the year.  They have all the amenities one might expect of a guest ranch including rustic (but clean) casitas, dining room, saloon, swimming pool, and fully serviced RV and camping facilities.

The staff are about as down to earth as it gets and are very knowledgable on the history of the 300+ acre ranch.

What is a guest ranch without horses?  The ranch has a very experienced foreman and a string of excellent, well adjusted and well mannered trail horses.  Who could ask for more?

If you want to experience the quintessential Arizona ranch experience, this is it folks!!!!!

Best kept secret in Arizona!

An excellent venue for a festival, adequate parking with easy walking distance to festival grounds.  Great vendors and music.  However, there was only one vendor roasting garlic, and the waiting time and line was extremely long.  They need to have at least two roasting vendors, physically separated to prevent long lines.  Several historic sites available with a ventage saloon.  Beer was cold!

Pros: lovely setting, range of amenities from RV parking to casita suites, catered dinner and breakfast were good quality, friendly staff, lots of different areas for entertaining, easy to find off the highway
Cons: lodging and catering overpriced, staff seems to have issues communicating with each other and working at odds, property and buildings need refreshing, no clear contract as with pro catering companies created some problems. 

I've never heard of an open bar that charged by the dollar amount, usually it's for a set period of time.  About two hours in Father of Bride was approached that the group had met the $500 limit for the open bar and would he like to pay more to keep it open?  No indication of how the drinks and the prices are tracked and how they came to that amount.  It appeared that the various staff was eyeballing it and making a judgment call, with no basis.  Not to mention that there was gratuity added in already for both food and bar, and yet there were tip jars out asking patrons for more.  The owner and manager were working the event, just curious if they were partaking in the gratuity or if any of it went to the paid staff, as it should be.  There was no set time for closing down the party; it should have been very clear in the contract that we are renting for x hours and afterward it would cost y if we wanted to continue.  Staff seemed to have definite ideas about where the tables should go in spite of bride and groom's stated preference for different locations.  Appetizers were artfully arranged but no napkins or utensils for the finger food, had to ask housekeeping for napkins. 
 
Generally everyone had a good time but there were a lot of amateur aspects that should be corrected in order to charge those rates.

Wedding and reception

Everything was great. The Nostalgia, the history, the venue nestled within the big boulders of Texas Canyon geology are very remarkable. Many walking trails, and one leads right to the Amerind museum. A must-see while you're visiting. The host was great. Don brought firewood to our cabin and lit a fire for us after a great dinner in the bar, built around a large boulder. Nice to have a swimming pool to soak our feet as we sipped cocktails after dinner. The one complaint that I have is, it was a very warm in the room. I won't be returning during the warm months of Arizona due to the insufficient Cooling in the room. I was there for two days and two nights with the air conditioning running constantly and it never came down to a comfortable temperature. I will return however. It's an awesome, unique and eclectic experience.
