It’s a little outdated but was perfect for the price and they keep everything very clean!

Feels like home every time we stay.  Great rooms and excellent service

The floor needs to be ”switter’ed” …soap and water ! Spilled dome water on the room floor and wiped up with white napkins. Napkins came up black. Bathroom door is a six panel door. Door had dirt/dust in the molding grooves of the door. Clean the door and paint !Inside of bathroom door, the top molding of the metal frame was scrapped down to bare metal.  Metal was rusty  and possibly moldy. Windows were left unlocked. I happened to notice as I closed the curtains for the night. Property is a single floor motel. Unlocked windows is unacceptable.

Hard to rate this property because it’s a three star motel, but given that and what you’d maybe expect from that - it exceeded our expectations, so I said 4 stars. We stayed two nights at n Dec. The good: very clean; very comfortable beds and pillows, our room had a fridge and microwave, the heat worked well and wasn’t too noisy, it was quiet at the hotel and we slept well. The price was great - much cheaper than the nearby hotel where we usually stay. Could be better: only powdered creamer in the lobby for coffee, no hair dryer in the room. We’d stay again.

Exterior of the property was modern and well maintained.  The rooms, however, were in need of some work.  The bathroom was not cleaned well and there were spots of some substance on the door and sink area.  The room door did not seal well and there was a large gap at the bottom allowing light and air directly into the room.

My vehicle broke down on I-84 West in PA., and had to have it towed to a repair shop in Newton, NJ. I had to find lodging for the night in the area. I called Econo Lodge and they held a room for me. The front desk was friendly and helpful. The room was fine...clean and included a fridge and microwave.

Very Accommodating

I can’t comment on the hotel itself, as I didn’t actually stay here. But I paid for a neighbor in need when they had a house fire overnight and needed a place to stay with their dog. I called and Rakesh confirmed there was one room available, gave me the price, and I paid. When my neighbor checked in and explained what had happened, Rakesh emailed me and reduced the price of the hotel based on their unfortunate situation. His kindness speaks volumes and I would not hesitate to book here again based on that alone. Class act. Thank you, Rakesh!

Generous owner!

There are places in Newton that I am sure will give you a nice deluxe hot breakfast.  The Econo Lodge offers a simple breakfast.  Those places with the fancy breakfast and other amenities that you don't really need are also charging much more.  I don't know about you, but I don't eat eggs every day.  I hope you don't eat eggs every day, by the way.

The breakfast is fine and adequate.  The room is much more.  

Econo Lodge, as a brand, can be hit and miss, but when you find a hit, it's often a stunning value.  This hotel is such a value.  The room is modern with comfortable bedding, a shower that works well, and most importantly offers the quietness of being off a major road.  Sleep! That's what you really want the room for, right?

Also working well is the wireless internet.  No issues there, my work requires I upload pictures on to their website, and the upload speeds are what I expect from my home connection.

Stay here.  You don't really need to spend more money then this, unless you want a more fancy hotel name on your complimentary pen.

A Gem in Newton

No frills, but just what we needed for a one night stay.  Clean and easy. Nearby Mexican Diner was very good as well.
