French Welcome

Beautifully restored period home, tucked behind a white picket fence on a tree-lined street in the center of town. I fell in love with this place the moment I spotted it! My hostess was extremely accommodating of my late arrival time and, when asked, eager to share the history of the property, which had once served as a lodging house and stables for judges and lawyers appearing at the court house. My room was spacious, immaculate and homey, with a large, original, fireplace--an incredible value for the price. The house is beautifully furnished with French and American antiques; the book-lined common room is particularly welcoming, All capped off with a delicious French country (hot) breakfast, served on the hostess's own fine china and silver. I felt as though I were staying with a friend-of-a-friend of the family. A wonderful oasis of calm, quiet charm after a busy work day in the city!
