I really wanted to see the goats as silly as that sounds and had a great time doing it.

Amanda was great very helpful with any & everything. The breakfast was amazing! The property was well kept. Dean was amazing too, he gave great suggestion on Bills Seafood.

Our room was beautiful, spacious and clean, with a wonderful bathroom. The innkeeper was friendly and very helpful and provided a delicious breakfast.

Step back in time at this lovely B & B.  Stately trees shade the spacious grounds.  Delicious breakfasts prepared by the innkeeper will probably include eggs from the chickens on site.  Beautiful refreshing pool.  BEWARE.  Only one of the five rooms offers a private bath.  Read the room description carefully before you book.  Otherwise the property offers a wonderful experience!

Avery amazing house and what a breakfast!

Absolutely beautiful renovated 1872 home. Very comfortable accommodations and the breakfast was phenomenal. AMANDA is the best and most accommodating innkeeper.

Timeless B & B

The house was beautiful, and the decor was a perfect fit.The back porch was a delightful place to relax. Andrew was a gracious host, and his breakfast was a culinary experience. He even gave us a ride to my reunion party as it was raining. Don't lose him he made our stay unforgettable, if possible, we will return again.

Andrew, the innkeeper, was so kind and knowledgeable about the Bevin History and how he attended to guests needs.  He met me at arrival and helped me with my bags.  Then, we sat a bit and enjoyed a homemade cookie and conversation.  The Chauncey, where I stayed, was very comfortable, wonderfully decorated.  Enjoyed the next morning’s breakfast, after all, Andrew mentioned he went to culinary school, and it was quite obvious by the taste!!! Delicious. Thank you for a beautiful stay.

The Bevin House Review

The house itself is charming - a bit like stepping back in time - but what made the experience even better was the warm reception from Christy (who also made a wonderful breakfast and her daughter Savannah. Also had a chance to meet the owner, Dean, and learn about the house's history.  I'd definitely recommend the experience to anyone.  (And don't forget to visit the goats, either!)

What a great property.  The outdoor space was terrific.  When we arrived at 9:30pm, there was a bonfire going and we were greeted by our awesome host, Dean.  He walked us through the inside and wow, what a wonderful place.  It felt like we were transported back in time.  He did a fabulous job restoring the property.  Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet.  Breakfast in the morning was prepared by Dean and he went above and beyond to make sure our special dietary needs were met, and it was fabulous.  Next time we are in CT we will definitely stay at The Bevin House.  I highly recommend staying here!!!

Very charming historical property situated on a beautiful property with friendly goats.  Great place to relax and explore surrounding community. I never had the opportunity to walk to the downtown area as I was meeting a friend and we went to Gillette"s Castle State Park and the Devil's Hopyard State Park, both are very enjoyable and very close to this wonderful B&B. Breakfasts were delicious and I would definitely stay here again!!

This was a find. This is an authentic Victorian home that has been converted into a beautiful bed and breakfast. It was magical. The pool was paradise. The trees - majestic. I walked over to the grey barn where two adorable goats greeted me behind a fence. This city girl needed some nature Shangrila. I’m coming back in the fall for the foliage to check out the famous “Air Line Trail”. Google it! PS - Po’s Rice And Spice was my go to restaurant. Thank you Dean and Christina! ( Who we’re also wonderful!)

Magical Unique Special Victorian B&B!

I could not have imagined a more romantic setting than this elegant Victorian for an overnight stay. Two scrolled iron gates swung open at our arrival. The Innkeeper had created a welcoming atmosphere (home-baked oatmeal cookies waiting on the dining room buffet). Yet I could easily imagine this place as a peaceful hideaway for one. The Bevin House is impeccably restored~ room after room of charming historic decor in a serene setting. Clean, comfortable, and full of interesting memorabilia. Gillette Castle, Goodspeed Opera House, Comstock Covered Bridge, Johnsonville, Airline Trail all nearby. Morning followed with a gourmet breakfast served on the patio overlooking perennial gardens, the sloped lawn to a pond-like pool, two friendly goats. A pleasant surreal experience that began like stepping into a movie set where we were treated like royalty. Tina was so helpful and pleasant~ we hated to leave!

History, Beauty, Charm & Comfort. This place has it all:) If you  are planning a trip to this part of CT this place is not to be missed. We stayed in the Philo room (honeymoon suite) on the third floor. Our host, Dean, was simply the best. The room was comfortable, clean & luxurious. Our bath even had a rain shower. :) The breakfast was nothing short of sumptuous. If you are an architecture geek or history buff like me you will just love this place!  Awesomeness!

Hidden historic gem!

What a great B&B! Can't say enough wonderful things about the property and Roseanne the Caretaker. Being in the house was a magical trip back into the 1800's (my time period!).....sitting and reading in the library was the most incredible "fix" for stress. We found the stay well-worth the 5+ hr. drive there from Pennsylvania on a visit to our newly relocated son and fiancee. Even though we stayed in the smallest room in the B&B which was found on the 3rd floor, the accommodations were wonderful. No problems whatsoever with the shared bathroom Would HIGHLY recommend this place.
