I booked this hotel online as I was traveling and needed a place for the night.  We pulled in and it is completely run down. Pool and elevator broken. Windows boarded up. They had residents living there. There was one resident guest with a pet goose. The short time I was in the parking lot trying to cancel about 6 different groups of people came and went. One man was carrying bed linens and what looked like a mattress pad to the back of his jeep. Luckily I was able to cancel as I feared nothing good would come from this stay. On the way out a lady tried to flag us down for money or who knows what. BEWARE!!

Horrible, run down, vagrants

I want to preface this by saying we drove several hours and were extremely exhausted which apparently mushed our brains. Also, it's my belief some good reviews here are completely fake, and God knows the pictures are. So, on our way from MI to N. Myrtle Beach, SC, I called several hours ahead of time to book a room and was quoted a price. We got there after dark. Don't do that. They actually had to 'unlock' the front door to let us in. The man quoted me a price $10 higher because 'they' supposedly rented out our 'reserved' room to someone else. Plus, we got a refridgerator. (Um, yeah, ok.) Anyway, I asked twice to honor the price they originally quoted me. Twice he just shook his head no and then proceeded to tell me I can go somewhere else. Normally, I wouldn't have taken that from any business but I had a major headache. For some idiotic reason, I continued to finish booking. We went up to the 2nd floor, (btw, this motel is NOT wheelchair accessible, the elevators DO NOT work). We were literally in the room for less than 3 minutes. It was absolutely disgusting, seriously filthy, and at minimum a health hazard. It looked like a bug had been smashed on the bedding (if you call it that). Not only did we 'supposedly' pay extra for that refrigerator, but we must of paid extra for the roaches crawling on top of it, too? We went promptly back to the office and asked for a refund. He did so, but a couple of days later, we were only credited for what we were originally quoted: $10 less. I was rested and back to my senses by this time and I called. The asst. manager gave every excuse possible as to why I didn't get my full refund. After a minimum of 45 minutes and 2 callbacks, their computer made the mistake- not them. And apparently, it's absolutely appropriate for them to let a customer reserve a room way ahead of time and they can just rent it out on you, as well as, speak to you rudely. Without apologies, they stated they would refund the rest. I have yet to see it. I'll give it a couple more days due to the holidays. I've owned a rental business for years and frankly, I wish I would have taken pictures. I can't believe they allow this place to stay open- period. I will be writing several formal letters to the necessary authorities to have this motel thoroughly inspected. Do yourself a HUGE favor, do not stay here. Always check the rooms of the motels before you pay for it.

Travelers Warning: You won't be the only one staying in your room.

I arrived earlier than the check in time and they accommodated me without hassle.   Thanks to the front desk people who made me feel welcomed and worked with me and my hectic schedule.  Everyone was nice.

Good Stay

The rooms are large, the decor is decent, and the staff is OK.  The only thing that rises concerns are the type of people that hangs around the buildings. They wait until security leaves then start crawling out.

Decent Stay

I was skeptic but overall I'm glad I followed my instincts.  My stay was nice and pleasant.  Though they did have a few incidents with the cops that took place, they quickly resolved it and  kept it private. It was worth the money and I'd return if I had to.

a ONE night stay turned into a WEEK!

The staff and manager goes beyond expectation.  Literally I saw the manager walking the property after 3am.  I would think SHE knows to lock up, push the bed to the door and crawl in the closet to avoid being seen. .. But my gut tells me she isn't easily frighten.

Long story short, I had a reservation at the Marriott in East Columbia. Due to a schedule mix up I arrived a day early and my reservation could not be adjusted.  I drove around on a Friday night looking for a place to stay.  I ended up at Motel6 off St. Andrews. The place was old and the parking lot lights were out. By this time I was tired and exhausted. The lady immediately jumps to her feet to greet me (impressive). She apologized that I was exhausted but said she wanted to ensure my stay was peaceful. She put me on the first floor near my car and called my room to make sure I was satisfied.  The staff overall (those who worked that Saturday Morning) were amazing and made a point to be friendly and make their guest feel comfortable.  I will always remember my stay there.  If by any chance any of them read this, THANK YOU.  

Lemon to Lemonade!

My stay was comfortable and private. People seem to get along nicely and the staff is friendly but I kept to myself. They talked a lot and asked about my day every time I went into the office. All the smiles and laughter seemed strange. But my stay over all was peaceful and private; the way I like it.

Just want to thank the manager and her crew. They made my stay nice and comfortable even tho I aint had much money, they gave me a weekly deal and let me have it for the 2 weeks I needed. Thank you! Yall did over and beyond for me and my kids and I REALLY appreciate you all.

OVER DID IT!

My stay was pleasant. I would reccommend this place to everybody who's looking to save some money and enjoy themselves on a budget.  They didn't charge for my pets either. I brought 2 and was charged nothing!!!!
