This appeared to be owned and operated by a couple who were extremely friendly and accommodating. We arrived in the 1 am hour, and the doorbell went directly to the owner to come let us in. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable and I liked that the sink in our room was not in the shower/toilet area so that kids could brush their teeth, etc while others used the bathroom. Perfect for a quick in-and-out stay.

I was scared when I drove up to the hotel as it looks really old and the location, behind the Gold's gym and facing the highway, is not enticing.That said, I was pleasantly surprised.  It's definitely a true budget hotel but everything was clean and well taken care of.  Zero amenities other than the ice machine but as long as you balance out the cost relative to the other options in Clemson, it's actually a bargain. I've stayed in probably 7 other hotels in town in the past year as my son is a sophomore at Clemson, and the prices can get crazy depending on the weekend.  I'd stay here again ... just need to be okay with the lack of amenities and it being a true motel.

We were a bit nervous about staying here after reading several poor reviews, but they were over a year old and the management responded appropriately. Our room was very clean and the hotel staff were very helpful. We had requested a ground floor due to mobility issues and they had assigned us a second floor. This was the night before the total eclipse. They found a first floor room for us and did not charge the upgrade. They were fully booked so they were very helpful.

A great and reasonable stay

I came in for the solar eclipse. The hotel is close to the university. The folks were very friendly. I decided to leave early, right after the eclipse, and fully expected to pay for the second night. They gave me a huge discount - basically didn't charge me for the second night. It's not a fancy place, but the people make it a value.

Very good service!

I was very concerned to come here due to the reviews I read (after I booked the motel). We checked in and our request for a first floor room had not been communicated. I was glad I brought my paperwork-even though the place was booked, the staff were able to give me the first floor I had requested due to mobility issues. They also just charged us the original amount of money even though our room was an upgrade. I was impressed with the professionalism and willingness to adjust, even though this was over the "eclipse" and everything was booked. No bugs, clean and nicely appointed room. I would come back again.
