Wonderful old school inn.. very comfortable feeling. Room was very clean with an updated bathroom.. had cocktails in the pub.. what a great place to unwind.. had dinner in the dining room.. excellent prime rib, best I’ve had in a long time. We will definitely be back.

It was unique - you're not staying at a chain. The bed was very comfortable, the wi-fi was fast and dependable and dining options were varied and excellent.  and being located right across the street from the lake and ark was great!

This is a charming hotel. All if the details and decor give this Scottish inn an old world vibe. It’s clear that the employees love their jobs. If you cone here, make sure to stay for dinner. It’s a 5-star experience.

You don’t find such a welcoming atmosphere at many establishments. Everyone was delightful and attentive. It was a mini Scottish getaway. We had their delicious breakfast and a fine dinner of Guinness pie and filet mignon.

This Inn is charming and beautiful!   The decorated inn is filled with Scottish history.  The history of the building is beautifully detailed.  The restaurant is outstanding.  I had the best steak I've ever had.  Completely worth visiting.

Adorable Scottish Inn. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast had a variety of options. Highly recommend a stay. The town of Cazenovia is adorable! Wish we had more time to explore.

Our stay was wonderful. We were traveling with a puppy and they were very welcoming of that. Live music every night and the food at the restaurant was great.  The bed was also really comfortable (memory foam mattress).  I would definitely stay again!

Staying here felt like being on an episode of Outlander - right out of Scottish highlands. Charming bed and breakfast vibe but with full working restaurant and bar. Close to colleges in the area (Colgate, Hamilton, Cazenovia, hour away from Syracuse). Dinner at the restaurant was good. Enjoyed outside patio and took a walk to Cazenovia Lake after dinner.

Charming Scottish Inn

For our 3-day stay the room was comfortable, but a but dated.  An in-room air conditioner cooled the room suitably.  We had made (and confirmed  when we checked in) diner reservations at the in-house restaurant during our stay, but when we appeared at our appointed time, they did not have our reservation and did not seem concerned about their error.  It then took them 25 minutes to find us a table in the otherwise vacant adjoining dining room.  Otherwise, the dinner we had was excellent and the waitress was wonderful and engaging.  Despite these hiccups, I would stay there again as it was convenient for our travel plans. The continental breakfast was a nice addition, but it was the vey same each day.

A Nice But Somewhat Dated Hotel

Beautiful Scottish Inn with wonderful decorations. The hotel had beautiful rooms which were decorated with lovely antiques. The restaurant was delicious! The downstairs the bar was a hidden gem. We enjoyed staying here very much and we'll stay here again in the future . We took a walk across the street to a beautiful lake and walked around the park

Brae Loch is a gorgeous little inn located in the beautiful village of Cazenovia. From the single-malt Scotch offered at check-in to the fireplace in the cozy lobby, the comfy 4-poster bed, the Jacuzzi, and the delicious continental breakfast, everything about this place signals attention to detail and guest's comfort. Highly, highly recommend a visit!

Beautiful location with lake view

My wife and I stayed at the Brae Loch Inn during our IVF treatments, and it is the most clean, friendly, and comfortable inn we could have asked for! The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. Even with the pandemic, they didn't miss a beat as far as cleanliness and service goes! The rooms are cozy and unique, a definite must-stay for anyone near Cazenovia/Syracuse!

Fabulous Inn!

My wife and I needed a night away for our Anniversary.  We love the Caz area and the local spots to get a drink.  I have never dined or stayed at the Brae Loch before but had heard good things.  The architecture and décor were fantastic.  We enjoyed drinks and conversation with Hank at the bar and ended up having our dinner there too. The meal was outstanding and we would go back there for sure.  Thanks to Hank and the other staff for making it a memorable anniversary.

Anniversary night away

Don’t let the dark & sorta spooky exterior deter you!  The people are soooo warm, friendly & accommodating.  St Andrews room was LARGE compared to hotel chains, which was a sensational way to travel w/ 2 kids & dog.  Beds had thick foam mattresses which my back greatly appreciated.  My hotel-loving kids were wary of the place, which is more like a b&b.  But even they came away with a new appreciation for staying in such a unique place.

Our stay was wonderful. The meal was perfect although we waited about 45-50 minutes for it.  It was what I was expecting as far as the Scottish decor, loved it.  I thought it could of been a little warmer, but I know it’s an old house that has many broken up rooms. I loved our room with the fireplace. I would definitely go back again.

Pleasantly pleased.

We loved the Scottish accents and atmosphere.  It was beautifully and tastefully done.  Our room was spacious and comfortable.  We had 2 breakfasts there.  My only complaint is that it would have been nice to have fewer items with dairy.  I'm lactose intolerant, so my choices were limited.  We had dinner there one night and it was excellent.

Loved the room, canopy bed and general charm. Would have liked better lighting at bath room mirror or a makeup mirror.  Had to find someone to help get my heavy suitcase upstairs......but it was no problem....was assisted right away and with a welcome smile. Staff was welcoming and friendly and accommodating throughout my stay. I will return next time I am in the area.
