While the room was clean and comfortable, the front desk clerk (Tasha) provided zero customer experience with her negative, demeaning attitude. She could have cared less that we were staying at the place. After arriving home, we discovered that the credit card was charged in excess of the agreed upon hotel stay. She was of no help getting the situation resolved; zero help getting the matter handled. We consequently contacted the fraud unit of our credit card company to get these excess charges removed from our account. Too bad that the attitude of one employee ruined what could have been an adequate 1-night stay... and could have upped this rating.

Hotel Front Desk Clerk's Attitude Cratered Our Stay/Experience

The hotel was near the airport so no restaurants around. We did find an Arby's & McDonald's several miles away. The hotel was immaculate inside & out. The floors are the new, luxury vinyl which is great for easy cleanup. They have a tiny breakfast area but the attendant at the front desk said a lot of construction workers stay there & they leave early so it is not a problem. She was right. I was the only one there for breakfast which promptly ends a bit early at 9 a.m. The items were good, biscuits & gravy, bagels, toast etc. enough to get you going. I never stayed at an econo lodge & was a little leary. Since the reviews were all good I decided to take a chance. I was not disappointed as everyone was attentive, the place was newly redone & ever so clean.

Super clean

We expected a non-smoking room.  The room we were given on arrival reeked of cigarette smoke.  We requested a different room, which was granted.  The second room was better, but people obviously smoke in the rooms.  So, if you absolutely require no smoking, don't go here.  The room itself was ok, just very old with a rusted refrigerator.  Tolerable for one night. The property itself was filthy.  Trash all over the sidewalks, including glass bottles.  The vending machine was something out of a horror movie.  It was enclosed by thick bars, which is fine but indicated that they have security issues.  The display that showed the available drinks included a can of soda that had been used as an ashtray and somehow stuck into the display case.  One of the most disgusting things I've seen at a motel.  I would expect the from a $26 a night motel, or one you would rent by the hour but certainly not one that charges $100/night!  If anything about this description is appealing, give it a try.  Otherwise, don't even consider it.


Disgusting

You can instantly get a vibe for a hotel as soon as you pull into the parking lot.  This location is very clean and well-kept.  When I walked into the lobby, it seemed spotless and the front attendant was friendly.  That's how you know this place has good management that cares about customer service.  All the rooms have exterior doors so you can pull your car right up to it and quickly unload.  My room was impeccably clean and everything was in good shape and the AC worked great on a really hot day.  WiFi speeds were fast at 40 Mbps both up and down.  There is a new-looking washer and dryer available.  The pool was popular since it was close to a 100F in afternoon but I didn't try it out.  The only downside is that the room had all-wood floors and it was raining later that night and I got wet tracks all over my room!  I hate wood floors for this reason but sadly a lot of budget hotels have them these days.  The higher end hotels all have carpeted rooms so that should tell you something, right?  Overall, I highly recommend this place for it's cleanliness and great management.

Very clean and quiet with a pool

We had a very early flight out of the Columbia SC airport.  So, to avoid a 1.5 hour drive from Augusta, we decide to stay near the airport.  We found the location to be very near the airport.  The check in process war quick and easy.  The room need some updates and no breakfast since we left early.

Average hotel

The place was rated very good. The room was clean but smelled like it had been smoked in. Staff had no other rooms available. They offered us Fabreeze and a citrus aerosol. Glad it worked because my wife is allergic to smoke smell- asthmatic.
It was a night's rest with limited but sufficient breakfast. There was outside noise and thin walls so we had sound all night. At 3 am someone went running by, followed by another person. ???
We managed to rest but it was definitely not our best hotel experience.

Basic Room for the night

Stayed there one night for business . The price was reasonable.It is a basic hotel nothing special.The room was very dated, but the bed was comfortable.The room was clean and quite. Breakfast was very limited.Front desk was helpful and friendly.

one night stay

Stopped here for the night on our way to Myrtle Beach. Price was very reasonable, room was clean and beds were comfortable. Front desk attendant was very pleasant and welcoming. We would definitely stay here again, and would recommend this property.

Just passing through.. 

I had to switch rooms three times due to smelling of cigarettes. One room smelled like cigarettes and alcohol. The following morning I had to shower twice to get the smell off and then immediately leave the room. Three or four other rooms were preoccupied with families that were partying, sitting in the parking lot blaring music and drinking. One family made a makeshift grill to cook on and did so in front of my room which caused smoke and grill smell to be in the room. This was the WORST hotel experience I’ve ever had and I’d definitely stay away from Econo Lodge.

Worst hotel experience

This hotel had everything we needed.  The room was comfortable, well-equipped and quiet.  The breakfast options were limited but, given the price of the room, I didn't expect to see as much as they had available.  Staff were extremely courteous.
