Route 302 in Bartlett is the gateway to Crawford Notch and the Presidential Range.  Unlimited hiking awaits you.  Be sure to go to the Mount Washington Hotel for a drink on the porch and go to the Glen Junction restaurant for a  pancake breakfast!!!  Special thanks to  Will's Inn owner for the outstanding customer service.

Amazing location & fantastic owner

We spent 2 nights here in August 2019. The exterior property was neatly manicured, with lots of lovely flowers in front, fire pits and Adirondack chairs out back, and a fenced-in pool in front of the property. There were amply parking spots for each cabin.

Our room had a cute, country flair, and was a decent size, with closet, bureau, 2 night stands, television, queen bed, table with 2 chairs, private bathroom, & kitchenette with mini-frig, microwave, and coffee maker. There were 2 hot beverage cups and 4 cold beverage cups provided. No coffee.

The A/C worked great. The shower was comfortably warm, but not hot. The tap water had a strong metallic odor to it, so we drank only bottled water there, even for brushing our teeth. 

The refrigerator was over-flowing with water onto the carpet when we arrived because apparently a switch on the multi-port-outlet had been flipped off, so the freezer had defrosted. This was merely a minor inconvenience to us. We simply placed the bath mat on the wet carpet to soak-up the water, but what was on the towel afterward looked like spilled chocolate milk! (Carpeting is always nasty in budget accommodations!)

We where provided a mini bar of soap, 1 mini shampoo, and 1 mini conditioner for two people, for two nights. The bath towels were thin and not much larger than a hand towel. We were provided two such bath towels, two hand towels, two washcloths, and 1 bathmat. The bathroom sink drain was extremely sluggish. 

There were no housekeeping services provided during our 2-night stay, although there was a tip envelope for the housekeeper anyway.

We were pleased with most aspects of Will's Inn, and would be better prepared if we ever found ourselves staying there again; we would be sure to bring washable slippers, our own coffee, bath towels, and more bottled water.

It was OK

Biggest Pro: Access to river behind the property - beautiful to look at and play in.
Other Pros: Less than 2 miles from Story Land, close to all the restaurants and attractions in the North Conway area, easy booking, check in easy and contactless (keys in unlocked room), nice room configuration for our group of 7 that used two connecting rooms, clean room, sufficient towels and toiletries, comfortable beds.  
Cons: Deferred maintenance in both small and large ways - from a number of light bulbs burned out to significant staining on the ceilings, from continuous running toilet to holes and dents in doors in walls.  The pool was closed and we never received the wi-fi password requested.  I guess they are going to continue renting it out as long as they can without investing any money in maintenance - I'm not sure what their end game is.  I would not recommend staying there, but there is limited options in that area with labor shortages and what appears to be multiple properties closed and we felt OK about our stay.

Beautiful River Behind Property

This used to be our favorite place to stay in the area.  The property was kept beautifully, the rooms were clean, the staff friendly and helpful. A wonderful in-ground pool.  The sign out front says "the family place" and that it was!  We felt very safe and comfortable bringing our young children here.   Well we returned this year and apparently there are new owners who care very little about the property.  We were told, for one, that the pool would not be open due to COVID.   But we found out once we were there that pool was never opened last year either!  They just don't want to take the time with the upkeep of the pool.  Our rooms were only half clean upon arrival and lacking basic toiletries.  The rooms are run down, the property run down, what used to be a beautiful front lawn is now overgrown weeds that no one mows. It is downright sad what they have let happen here.  A garbage dumpster was overflowing which invited bears every night.   They currently have people living there too and one morning the cops came for a domestic dispute.  The office was not open and one afternoon a car drove in looking for a place to stay but there was no one on site to even talk to about getting a room.  We have wonderful memories of family vacations here but now do not feel safe or comfortable ever returning.

Gone too far downhill - do not stay here!

We has stayed there several times  before with the prior owners and it was great - I had called x 2 prior to our stay asking if there were hairdryers in the rooms - I received an automated call with no answer to my question.  Alas - no hairdryer in the room.  The office was never open - our key was in an envelope on a bulletin board.  The first nite there I called for an extra pillow - never got it - called again the next day - talked to the owner in NY!  Too bad for me.  There was a small coffee pot in the room - but no coffee - the owner said we have to bring our own!  Website says free coffee - sure - if customer brings it!  We won't be returning here.   Plus there is no housekeeping daily. Also no password available for Wifi.   TV is tiny

Disappointed!

We had the misfortune of staying in this motel five weeks into our cross continent road-trip.  The motel’s fee was comparable to the other places on our trip, but unlike the others, the stay was awful. 

Although it appears that at one time it was an okay place,  it now appears run down, room was dingy and grounds not well kept.  Garbage was littered on the grounds beside the playground. 

However the worst for us was the service.  Only one channel (sports which we don’t watch) worked. The front desk came under the guise of helping us fix it. However, I realized after reading other reviews that this has happened before and attempts to remedy it were a sham. We tried calling management twice, as the front desk person left,  and there was no answer or return call. We would never stay in a remote place without a tv as that is how we like to relax after a long day of driving. 

There are other places in town. Stay away from this!



Unmatched Poor Quality 

When you call it’s voicemail of the owner out of state. The staff of 2 or 3 are back & forth to the owners other location. Bathroom wasn’t totally clean, beds not comfortable & linens are old. Pool hasn’t been operational for at least 3 yrs. The window ac’s are old & very loud. The pictures on the website is when the previous owner had it. Will’s Inn has gone from a 10 to a 1 in 3 yrs. Only thing nice is the walk down to the river. Obviously with the owner doesn’t care. Just drive on by.

No one on site for check in. Not all lights work. Pool not open.

This was the worst place that we have ever stayed at and we paid $159.  Actually we left at 10:15 PM so we did not even stay overnight. When we arrived there was no towels or soap in the room and the room was shabby.  Also the little tube of shampoo just had a 1/4 inch of shampoo in it.  Their website looks like the place is nice but don’t be fooled. At 10:00 PM I decide to read, so I moved one of the pillows and there was a huge bug on the next pillow. We were out of there for our 2 and 1/2 hour ride home. 

Terrible

If you don’t use toilet paper, don’t care if the outside door doesn’t lock, want to get out of bed turn the TV off or adjust the volume, have no privacy because the curtains are sheer, don’t have the password to access WiFi and can close an inside door because a bed is the way, then this the place for you. Oh, and the pool doesn’t look like it’s been opened in years. Worst experience I’ve ever had and I’ve traveled the world. Will’s Inn gets a 1 rating… only because they don’t allow negative numbers.

Horrible experience

I had high hopes after seeing the sweet pictures of a well kept cottage and inn on the Bring Fido website. I read a few favorable reviews on Trip Advisor but upon revisiting those and scrolling though, there were poor reviews I wish I'd seen before I booked the place. I made my reservation on March 9 - over two weeks in advance of my stay. 

The owner took my reservation and he was charming as he took my credit card number. The email I sent asking what time check-in was went unanswered as did the calls to the office. Around 1pm on the day of arrival I drove to the cottage to see if it was ready. There was a woman out front on her cell phone, a car seat and a child's bike on the porch. I double checked to see if I was in the right place. I was. The woman said she was the manager and that she was heading over to the office to get her mask so she could start cleaning. The manager was pleasant. She said that they had hauled everything out to clean the cottage. She apologized that she did not have time to get the pictures hung. She said she was waiting for the kitchen curtains to dry. I asked her about check in and she said I could check in at 4pm. I left and came back to the cottage a few hours later, at 5pm and there were 2 people, still cleaning. 

When they finally left and I was able to get in, the place was so filthy that I did not unpack. Thank God, the manager had the foresight to put a clean sheet over the sofa or I would not have sat down. I checked the windows to see if they were locked - not one was locked but all had a coat of furry dust and grime on them. One window did not even have a lock and pushed open very easily. When I travel alone, I like to have windows that lock. I pulled the blinds down - they were dirty and slats were broken or missing and there were no living room curtains to pull to close the view from the parking lot. 

The last straw was stepping in something gooey on the bedroom carpet. Not dried goo, fresh goo. I doubt they followed protocol about the virus until they saw me drive up and put masks on. 

There was an electronic air freshener that made a loud noise and woke me and startled my dog every two hours. The cottage was chilly but there was only one thin coverlet on the bed, no extra blankets. I paid just shy of $300 to stay there for one night. I don't mind rustic, but I expect a place to be clean and in good repair. I really wanted to love this place but I got out of there early the next morning. 

The more I think about it, the madder I get. Why would the manager tell me they had hauled everything out of the cottage to clean it and then put it all back in without even cleaning the carpet, let alone the blinds and window frames? 

The thing is - if the cottage was this dirty after they spent all day cleaning it, how dirty was it before they started?

This place is supposedly coming under new ownership and I wish them well. They have their work cut out for them.
