While visiting Bar Harbor, we stayed at the Thornhedge Inn for 3 nights.  

The Inn has great decor and Victorian charm.  The hospitality was phenomenal.  The location was perfect (a short 5 min walk to downtown Bar Harbor).   

The breakfasts were simply delicious.     I would recommend this B&B to anyone traveling to Bar Harbor.

Andy the in keeper is very informative.  Delious breakfasts and delightful wine and cheese. Very clean.

A lovely vacation!  Andrew, our host, was wonderful about giving us super ideas such as where to dine, where to hike, bike, tour.   The B and B was lovely, comfortable, and In a great location.

What a beautiful stay we had at Thronhedge Inn.  Andy and Jeff, our hosts were incredible.  
Our room, The Devilstone, was perfect. The room had a comfy bed and pillows, big windows to have fresh air at night, and big fluffy bath  towels.   
We loved the breakfast each morning, it was presented  beautifully, to pretty to eat, but we did....every bit of it.    The conversations amongst the other guest was light and easy.   
It is walking distance to the village to have dinner and shop.  When we came back from our day of adventures we would have a coffee and tea and sit on the front porch and just relax.  A wonderful way to end a day. 
 We had such a lovely time it truly is worth staying here if your are visiting the Bar Harbor Area.  Andy and Jeff will make sure you are very well taken care of.

Everything You Could Ask For in a B&B

Such a perfect place..................

My husband and I spent three nights in this beautiful Inn.  The victorian decor and antiques throughout were lovely.  Breakfast was delicious every morning, and was served on a beautifully set table.  My favorite though, was the French toast with blueberry topping.  It was unbelievable good.  Andrew, the host, as well as all the associates were friendly, helpful and accomodating.  The Inn is centrally located in the historic area and within walking distance of everything.  The only time we used our car was when we went to Acadia National Park.  Our only complaint was the overly firm mattress, which is usually just a matter of preference, so I did not want to reduce the rating for that reason.  Overall, we were extremely pleased.  

Lovely B&B in a great location

Charming inn close to “downtown” Bar Harbor and Acadia. No need to search for a place to park since the Inn is so close to many restaurants and shops. Our room was spacious and we enjoyed the smart TV which allowed us to watch a wide variety of streaming services. Wish more hotels and Inns would have this.Breakfast was great with a different selection each day and there were always options for people with food allergies. We would definitely stay again if we’re in the area

Wonderful Inn

The Inn is lovely.  The Innkeeper, Andrew, always makes sure every feels at home.  The breakfasts are to die for: filling, but not stuffing and always cooked to perfection and served attractively.  The conversation at breakfast is always lively and a great way to share what everyone has been doing.  The wine and cheese receptions in the afternoon are another way he brings the guests together.  It is in a great location.  Walking distance to everything, but not in the center of town.  We've been going there for three years and it's always been a unique experience. 

It's like staying at home.

This is a great place to stay. Very clean. Cool vibe. Fantastic breakfast.  The host and staff could not be any friendlier.  And they are very knowledgeable and willing to help you set up anything that you want to do.  We have stayed at Bed and Breakfasts in the past and have had good experiences.   But somehow this place is just a cut above.   We were only here for two days, as we were traveling on to Portland. We actually really considered canceling Portland just to stay here longer.

Stay with the Best

This was our first stay at a b&b. Andrew & the staff set the bar so high I don’t know if we’d ever be able to stay elsewhere. The property is stunning, impeccably maintained, our room was very well appointed & HUGE!! Very walkable to all the local restaurants & shopping. Breakfast was delicious with a nice variety of offerings. Really a fantastic stay. Wouldn’t change a thing.

Charming b&b with everything you need

This was the fourth stay at Thronhedge for my husband and myself, starting in 2011.  On two subsequent trips to Bar Harbor we rented a house thinking that may suit our needs better, but we later felt, why would we want to stay somewhere else?  The house is just beautiful, the rooms lovely and full of character, the beds very comfortable.  My two favorite rooms I have stayed in so far are Blair Eyrie and Chatwold.  The staff is friendly and efficient, the breakfast delicious and the wine and cheese social is the perfect prelude to dinner in town.  It is an easy walk to Main Street but just enough off the beaten path that it is fairly quiet.  Last but far from least the owner, Andrew, is personable, charming, and knowledgeable about all things related to the area.  We have already booked our stay for next fall at neighboring Stratford, which is also owned by Andrew, as we love the decor there too!

Another Wonderful Stay at Thornhedge

Lovely New England inn, close to downtown Bar Harbor. We so loved being close to shops and restaurants. 

Our room, Devilstone, was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and hearty — no need for lunch. The wine and cheese before dinner gave us the opportunity to chat with the other guests.

Early autumn visit

This Inn was in a perfect location, as it was close to Main Street but not too close.  We really enjoyed our breakfasts and our conversations with the owner and guests.  WE also enjoyed the large and comfortable porch.  The Inn itself was beautiful.  Would have given it a five star but our room was in a rear addition, and was not what we felt was   up to par.  The AC was not good and the decor was sorely lacking. The hallway to our room was more like a  green house on the date of our arrival as the high temperature and glass and no shade all combined to give a very high temp.  
But again, if not for these negatives, we would rate this five star.
