The Frances Modern Inn

This place feels like a hidden gem! After watching the Gilded Age on HBO I planned a small staycation for my hubby and I to celebrate my 40th birthday, and I was not disappointed by our booking! As someone who used to manage short term rentals I can tell this place was thoughtfully designed with a lot of love. It made me want to ask if they were hiring! I loved the vintage drinking glasses, and the design of having small common areas with a much nicer latte machine than you’d normally find en room just steps from your door. We got to try their new restaurant, Siti. It was a little more on the pricey side but I enjoyed the food and left satiated but not overstuffed. Due to a medical issue we had to depart early, and their staff went out of their way to inform me when we left a few items behind and graciously allowed me to come get them same day. I would book this place again in a heartbeat! Oh, I almost forgot to mention we had a partial sunset view of the Capitol, and got to enjoy sounds of live music from across the street! If there was one improvement to suggest they might consider adding a microwave to the shared lounge areas. There’s an adorable market called The Quickie Pickie down the street so I could see grabbing some late night food or reheating leftovers from the restaurant. ❤️
