Loved this sweet place, the staff, and the room itself. We had the family ensuite, with an adjoining room (sleeps 6, but was great for 4, worth the extra for us to have a separate sleep-in space) Staff were delightful, let us leave luggage, and got us an early check-in. I always check TripAdvisor reviews and some folks loved the location while others were freaked out by the neighborhood. I am in the "loved the neighborhood" group. The hotel is at the corner of Park Ave and 129th, facing 129th. The most direct walking route north to 129th from the 125 station (or the M60 bus stop if you're coming from LaGuardia) might be Park Ave, but I recommend heading the four blocks north on Madison instead, which is much quieter and open. Parts of Park Ave were under construction and were noisy from the elevated train. Also, somewhat littered with trash, so it felt seedier. Avoid Park and your experience will be delightful. Tons of close and yummy food options on 125th. If you're lucky and visit on a weekend in good weather, take your lunch to the Harlem Rose Garden just down the street on 129th, past Madison (limited hours). We spent a happy hour with the sparrows there. Easy public transport from here, we used the bus, mostly. We only Ubered after 10pm.
