White Sands Motel

It's one of my favorite places to stay in the area.

Trusted the good reviews and booked 2 nights here in late March.  Enjoyed the stay, will book again if ever in the area. Facility and room were very clean and well-kept. Felt very safe. Location is central to Alamogordo and a great lock and leave spot to explore the area.  Chuck is a very polite and attentive host.

Stay is pretty good as described and as shown.

An older motel that was remodeled and updated. Loved the quaintness of yesteryear with the convenience of today.  Very relaxing. Very clean.

Quiet, very clean, comfortable bed and very hot shower.  The microwave and refrigerator were appreciated conveniences as was the desk area. Very convenient location for White Sands visitors.

The woman at check in was very nice and informative. Room was small, but clean and cute. All we needed was a clean, decent place to stay for the night, and this was perfect. Cute decor outside, and the table with chairs outside of the room would have made this great for a couple days' stay. Decent, simple breakfast was available for when we hit the road early.

Safe, quiet. Clean. Easy parking. Rooms a bit narrow for more then 1 person to walk by each other.

The proprietor is delightfully friendly and helpful.  The room is lovely and for being close to the street and shopping and restaurants, I found it to be very quiet. All ground level rooms for easy moving of luggage into the room; thank you!

White Sands Area Visit

Nice place, would totally stay again

A good Thai restaurant was right next door that you could walk to, and the motel is very close to other chain restaurants and coffee shops. It’s also 16 min away from White Sands National Park which was perfect for our trip. The room was nice and clean, and there was a little quick breakfast room for the mornings.

Retro vibe in an older motel, but it was refreshing and comfortable.  The proprietor was friendly, helpful, efficient and very pleasant.  He gave us great recommendations for dining.  He also provided info about the area.  The room was very clean and had everything we needed.  It might not be a Holiday Inn, but you can't beat the ambiance, friendly faces, and Mom and pop atmosphere.  I would stay again.

I can't say enough about our stay at White Sands Motel.  After a long day of flying and spending time at White Sands National Park, the hot shower and comfy bed were a welcomed relief.  The proprietor was very friendly and made the check-in effortless.  The room and breakfast room were very clean.  The continental breakfast was  good, with a nice assortment of cereals, bread products, yogurt, juice, coffee, etc.  Would highly recommend.

Comfortable Stay

We love staying at the retro White Sands Motel when we are in Alamogordo!!  The owners are so nice!  The rooms are quiet and clean.  The grounds are cute with a retro neon sign and pink flamingos.  The property is safe with multiple restaurants within walking distance.  And they  serve a nice continental breakfast (with regular sized yogurts).  We will be back again!

Room was very clean & comfortable. Motel is on a busy highway; our room was at the back facing away, so any noise was not a problem for us. We liked the midcentury vibe, & the gentleman at check-in had great recommendations for food nearby (lots of options in walking distance). Would definitely stay here again!

Excellent no-frills option in Alamogordo

Place was very easy to find. Staff was warm and welcomed us with open arms. We had the family suite and can fit up to 6 people.they had plenty of parking and our room was super easy to locate.  Breafast says 7am but is closer to 715am. They serve a simple continental breakfast of muffins, bagles, cereal, yogurt, milk, and juices. Coffee was available too. It's only a 15 minute drive to White Sands National Park. They had saucers availble for us to borrow. Dutch Bros coffee, wingstop, starbucks, dunkin donuts, sonic, walmart are within 2 miles if you need anything. We woild DEFINITELY stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay and our interactions with the owners. The motel is wonderfully maintained and a fun experience of vintage Americana. There are several of the usual hotel chains in town but we were very pleased with our choice and the charm and character of our time at the White Sands Motel. The beautiful vintage neon lights out front, reminiscent of the heyday of Route 66 (though this is not on Route 66, of course) for me are a fitting shorthand for the enjoyment of our stay.

These accommodations were not too bad despite the feeling of going back 50 years. The breakfast was marginal and not impressive. The bathroom was small, no counter for storage and definitely pink. Supplied soaps were inadequate. The bed was ok and we froze the first night because the heat had not been on for awhile and covers were minimal. The noisy heater  finally warmed up the room and we were happy when we moved out. The place was relatively clean. The staff was awesome, no complaints there.
