We adored our 2 night stay at The Gunrunner!  The downtown Florence location was delightful.  Easy to walk about this charming town.  The uniqueness of this locally owned boutique hotel was worth the price.  Exquisitely comfortable beds!  Lovely gathering space that all rooms opened out onto.  Rooftop deck was beautiful.  Highly recommend!

Beautiful room, wonderful staff. The bar was amazing and the cocktails were even better. Staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

Without hesitation, we would go back tomorrow. The hotel is unique and amazing - truly, you can tell the designers/owners who completed the renovation cared about what they were doing. this place is a GEM!!

Stay was excellent,  the room was well setup. Could be a little extra cleaning.  The common area/ bar was outstanding and really the best part of the hotel.Walls are a little thin,  neighbor was celebrating aittle long and late.Overall, would highly recommend it

It was not very accessible.  An elevator would've been nice to help get luggage up to the main level.  Also, our room needed an extra mirror in the living space and better lighting.  Most of the time there was no one around to ask questions, help, etc.  A phone # is nice, but not like having a real person to talk with.

I absolutely love the speakeasy and art deco vibe of this hotel! The suites I stayed in were lovely. My favorite was Billy Reid…And the service was great especially exceptional from Marissa, the bartender. The hotel better have her replacement step up their game because Marissa’s absence was definitely felt on my last evening there. The service wasn’t as soulful and warm.

This hotel is so unique. In fact, it didn’t feel like a hotel at all. If you are expecting a full staff hotel, this isn’t your place. The bartenders are basically the only staff that we saw, but they were super helpful with all of our needs. It has really cool decor, our room was clean and comfy, and it is a short walk to restaurants. The only negative that I have is the walls seem to be a little thin, and the room/bathroom have open ceilings so not as much privacy as some would like. Especially if you’re staying with friends, or you prefer bathroom privacy. Overall, we loved it, and will be staying at Gun Runner again!

I saw the photos of the GunRunner and knew I wanted to stay here! It did not disappoint. The building is decorated beautifully, and the room was extremely comfortable. I stayed in the room themed after architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The mattress was a dream, and the extra amenities (coffee maker, robes, toiletries, guidebook, etc) made they stay even better. I highly recommend utilizing the breakfast delivery from Turbo Coffee as well! I set up my order each night before bed and it was delivered to my door each morning by 7:15. The atmosphere in the bar/lounge area was great too. Things to note: This is an older building, so the walls are rather thin. You may hear the TV from your neighbor or conversations from the lounge area. The bar closes at 9:00 or 9:30 so it shouldn't be an issue, however there was one night where a few people hung out in the main area until 2:00 AM and I had to ask them to please keep it down. This isn't something that can really be avoided due to the age of the building. Overall I really enjoyed my stay and will absolutely be returning in the future!

This was our first time visiting the Gunrunner and it did NOT disappoint! It was the coolest hotel I’ve ever stayed in and the room was so neat! We loved the huge lounge area and bar right outside our room! The drinks were delicious and we loved being able to walk downstairs for coffee and breakfast! We will definitely be back soon!!

This is a very nice hotel. I got the room because I was concerned about Covid and this room had two sets of large windows that you could open up onto a balcony. Also, no elevator was required to go up the one flight of stairs. I was a bit nervous however as to enter the room you have to go through a bar and, although not crowded, nobody was wearing a mask (there's a sign on the downstairs saying enter with a mask). The coffee shop below the apartment was also full of maskless customers. The room itself and hotel have a very nice vibe and would be great under normal times. They could have had some brighter lighting for reading, a table for eating or writing, and a box of tissues. You can hear noise from the bar and nextdoor room but things quiet around 9:30.

a nice hotel, but not many covid precautions

This hotel is the best I’ve been too as far as being exclusive! Each room has its own theme so you won’t get the same room twice unless you want too. There was a bar right outside our room with lounge area so you can get drinks and go back to your room. They had a cafe there and spa. My favorite part is there are only 10 rooms in the whole place, it was SUPER CLEAN and the rooms were apart from each other so you don’t disturb anyone else. We truly enjoyed ourselves and will be staying there every time we come to Florence hands down!!! Sooo IMPRESSED!!! Especially in times like these, I felt safe and secure, keyless entry just all the way around mind blown

The property was wonderful, once you found it.  Loved the stairs and the large open area (lounge/bar) with the rooms around the bar.   Staff was amazing and so helpful.   The steam shower was a God send.   Within walking distance of numerous restaurants and shops.  Only issue is the noise from the bar after hours.  Highly recommend staying at the hotel and will do so again.
