We have now stayed at this Guesthouse for a few years and it is always a very pleasant stay.  We had a warm welcome as usual and the room was nice and cosy and warm.  The Guesthouse is spotless and even though there wasn't the breakfasts this time it did not cause any problem at all.  The Guesthouse is very conveniently located and close to the city centre.  It is like home from home and could not wish for a better place to say in York would not stay anywhere else.

Perfect Stay

Fantastic location, helpful owner and the room was lovely, nicely decorated we had a fab sleep would definitely recommend and would love to stay again. Although no availability to have breakfast it was not a problem as there's lots of places to eat in York, took us about 5 minutes to walk to York Minster it was perfect. 

Brilliant 

We stayed here in March of this year for our first visit to York.  As always we chose our accommodation carefully using comments made on trip advisor and we were not disappointed.  Our room was spacious and very comfortable, the breakfast superb and our hosts very friendly.  Nothing was too much trouble.  We would not hesitate to recommend this guest house to other discerning travellers.

Exceptional

Spent two nights in the guesthouse and it was brilliant, Adele met us and gave us an extensive introduction to the accommodation and what was available. The rooms were large and well kitted out, only down side was the sensitive smoke alarm which I managed to set off whilst drying my hair.
breakfast was brilliant and cooked as you wanted, food available would satisfy most guests, definitely recommend this accommodation, and within easy reach to the shops, restaurants and bars

Home from home

Stayed at Bootham at the beggining of the month, to celebrate an aniversary.  B&B was lush, very clean and tidy, comfy beds, and everything you would need in a room. 

About a 10 minute walk from the centre, with plenty to do without taxis/buses.

Breakfast was cooked to order, and nothing was a hassle for the owner Dean. He was very polite and welcoming. 
Wanted you to feel like home to home. 

Would deffo go back here again, this will be our spot when we go to York again!

Fab Weekend away!

Breakfast is positive, as it is basically in every BB. Delicious and made with a lot of love. The location is also top and there is parking available. The room was basically clean. However, you are in the rooms like in a bunker or basement. Just a tiny window and otherwise no ventilation, neither in the room nor in the bathroom. You have the feeling that you have no oxygen left at night and when it's bright outside, you hardly bring anything from the daylight. There are definitely some better BBs for the same price.

There's definitely better bed and breakfast.

While travelling to Yorkshire we stayed 3 nights. The time to visit York is a few steps away, and that's one of the great advantages of this address. The room is a little small and the English bedroom is a little rough, we're not used to it. The cleanliness is nickel. The bathroom is very functional and very clean. The wifi goes very well and Ian provides a computer and full of information. The most undeniable thing is breakfast... For us Frenchmen it's great. The jams, the jamy-style cereal mix, the very good mie bread... How to start the day.

A very good address in York

The B&B is centrally located, about 10 to 15 minutes' walk from the cathedral. The house is located in a side street and can be classified as a quiet location, no street noise is heard at night. The house itself is a side building that is functionally furnished but embodies the charm of a youth hostel. The same applies to the rooms. The beds are not bad, disturbing are the towels, which in our case were always easily supplied wet. Ian is the owner and tries to help, but his statements are not always very easy to understand. Ian loves shortcuts that are not always a native speaker. Highlight is the breakfast, which is sure to be served with plenty of variety, but not all that is really appreciated with a small note.

Mid-range B&B in York with a great breakfast

The Bootham Gardens Guesthouse in York is about 10-15 minutes from the Minster of York. You can either park directly in front of the B&B or with a permit on the street. The rooms are convenient and clean. The bathroom is also. The operator is casual and always set up for a little fun. The breakfast is sensational. The map runs over 2 pages and you can have breakfast from a variety of English chefs (Oliver, Stone, etc...) or even after what you want. This was really sensational. The utilization was very good and the location as well. Furthermore, there is access to a choice where you can even print something out. All in all, a good piece if you want to skip breakfast on flack-schnacket and a flat plate.

If you're looking for a B&B in York, this one is highly recommended. It's close to the center, 10-15 minutes' walk from the train station (crossing the river and approaching the parking lot). As soon as you book, they email you a lot of interesting information about the B&B and about York, where to eat, what to see, etc. The B&B is nice and very clean, plus Ian is a great host. The room is very nice, with a super large and comfortable bed, bathroom included and welcome tea. The dining room has a computer at your disposal and free wifi to which you can connect, you can also stroll through the garden that it has in the back. No noise at night, the site is very quiet. The breakfast includes a very full and very safe meals that they make themselves safe.
