Witney

Not local so not sure of Witney for places to eat? But happened to  stumble across the Fleece.  What a lovely welcoming place! Food excellent and service was  attentive.  Lovely views of the church from my table which also a bonus. When I’m in the area again in the next few weeks I will definitely return.

Witney gem

It was our Christmas meal on Jan 6th I have never been anywhere where the meal and service get full marks, everyone from barman to waitresses to chefs and anyone else I missed behind the scenes did a fantastic job, I can't thank them enough for an absolutely wonderful evening, Thanks so much 'The Fleece' Team. If I am still employed next year and I take lead on organising another Christmas meal I will come again, I have also suggested to family lets do Birthdays etc at The Fleece. As I am fairly local. 

The Best I have had in a long time...and that is saying something...Thank you 'Fleece Team'....

We booked for 1 night away and were so impressed with this lovely pub. Rooms were clean and comfortable, staff friendly and welcoming and even gave us breakfast for free as we were woken in the night by another guest. All in all a great stay and we will be back

Evenning Dinner

We were looking for somewhere to stay near to Blenheim Palace  and found The Fleece online. Our previous experience of Gastro pubs was not that good with tired furnishings, and dirty bathrooms. The reviews of this place were good and the location was perfect so we booked a 2 night stay in a king bedded room with breakfast and ate in the restaurant on both evenings. 
We were very pleasantly surprised. The room was very clean, a good size with a view overlooking the green. The large wall mounted TV was great and the en-suite bathroom was again spotlessly clean and the quality of the toiletries good. The super king size bed was really comfortable and the bedding crisp and clean. The restaurant had a warm cosy atmosphere and the quality of the food both at breakfast and dinner was very good. The service was a bit slow but to be fair staffing in hospitality post covid has not been easy. The staff apologised for the delays and you could see they were working very hard. We were not in any particular hurry so It did not adversely affect the enjoyment of our meals. 
All the staff were very cheerful and went out of their way to make our visit very enjoyable. With Blenheim Palace really close by and having the wow factor, our choice of The Fleece turned out to be a great one, and we will certainly return with friends next time we come to the cotswolds.

Another fantastic stay at The Fleece;  a warm welcome with help carrying bags, comfy bed, spacious room, fabulous breakfast menu all included - what more could you ask for!?!

Another fabulous stay.It’s my third stay and the main hotel I book for colleagues.I’ll most definitely be back to stay.

A typical quaint English pub bedroom but with an excellent restaurant and on the main High Street with access to many facilities.  Staff very polite and accommodating.

The Fleece is a fabulous place to stay, a real country feel type pub with great rooms attached at good value prices. The welcome and check in was fabulous although the waitress at breakfast was a little off and not very pleasant so a little uncomfortable however the breakfast itself was delicious with a great menu to choose from.The room had its own entrance so didn’t give to use the pub entrance and has all the amenities you could need. It was very clean, maid service daily if required tea coffee biscuits replenished daily!Location was perfect couple of minutes walk to the centre of Witney where shops snd cafes were plentiful!The added bonus of this hotel is the free residents car park! I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Witney area.

The property has a cottage feel. The dinner menu is limited and was not a high standard. The shower drain in the room was broken and there was a loud extractor fan right outside the window which was noisy. The staff were lovely and couldn't do enough for you.
