What a gem we found nestled in the countryside about a mile from Ulverston. Steve and Linda were amazing hosts, chatty, and informative without being intrusive. We could come and go as we pleased, making it a real 'home from home' The house is charming, with gorgeous original features and a host of Victorian antiquities. The breakfast was amazing - we chose the full English, which set us up perfectly for the day. There is also an option to have a packed lunch made for you for the next day, perfect if you're planning on setting out for a days walking! The room was cozy, immaculately clean and tidy, with all you need for a peaceful night's sleep. The shower room had everything you needed, including shower gel and hand-wash, and the shower was the perfect temperature (you'd be amazed how many we've come across that aren't!) There are places to eat locally that can be reached by foot - we chose the Red Lion, a proper 'local' which had very good pub grub and excellent beer! We would highly recommend a stay here and it will certainly be our first choice when we're in the area again!
