Excellent restaurant- fabulous food and a really lovely dining area. We ate with friends and we all really enjoyed our dishes. The chicken parmigiana was very good and the chicken with spaghetti and mushrooms was also very good. Excellent service too!

Relaxing nights stay, room small but very comfortable, dinner excellent with a good menu choice of seafood and beef, scallop starter superb, breakfast perfect again a good selection of cooked and continental.  Hotel dining and lounge is bright and very relaxing.Staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely  be staying here again .

We went for afternoon tea to celebrate a special 85th birthday. It was fantastic from the food to the cocktails/mocktails, service and beautiful decor. Would thoroughky recommend this experience and will definitely be back. A 5 star experience!

First time visit for both of us tonight and was not disappointed!! The atmosphere was so comfortable and relaxed. The staff was lovely and attentive. Great mix of food on the menu……but the food…..wow the food was delicious!!! So so good. We had the chicken with wild mushroom, garlic, spinach spaghetti and the Wagyu beef burger……so so good!! Food was fresh and full of flavour. We finished off with the chocolate fondant tart which was also delicious!! Would highly recommend eating here and we definately will be back :)

Went here as a family for lunch and were not disappointed. There were 3 different menus to choose from .( Market Dishes menu,set lunch menu and the normal one ) we chose from the normal one . One of us had steak ,( he said cooked to perfection) another had  red Thai curry - which he said was delicious but hotter than expected! Mother had haddock and chips (which she couldn’t finish as it was huge! But said Batter was lovely and crispy ) I had chicken parmigiana which was delicious (but a bit hotter than expected too as breadcrumbs must have had some chill through them . Ended up scraping some breadcrumbs off to alleviate this ) Lovely restaurant beautifully furnished , very relaxed atmosphere and pleasant staff.
Prices££, but worth it .
We will return to eat here.

Amazing family meal for my mums birthday, the food and service was absolutely outstanding, a firm favourite restaurant of ours now.
My 18 month old neice was well looked after and had a lovely time too.

Looking forward to our next visit already.

The staff in the hotel were incredibly helpful in assisting my cousin to find people who knew her mother as a child.  The rooms were comfortable but the food was superb

Cosy comfortable rooms great shower, just the thing after a long drive, friendly welcoming stuff well mannered and attentive. The bistro was another tiny wee Gem also great service and amazing food I was lucky enough to happen upon the specials menu with a 6oz Goose burger, hopefully this could make the main men.

Amazing! It was one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time! The service was also very attentive and friendly. You could also taste the great quality ingredients. If anyone was going to the area I would recommend it!

Visited here for lunch. Previously we have dined here in the evening and wasn’t sure how lunch would be but I can honestly say Fantastic! 
Food excellent snd very attentive staff !
Portions are on the large side so couldn’t quite finish it but that was my own greed adding side dishes . 
Well done , keep doing what you do. Really worth a visit !

Stayed here overnight for a business trip. Room was a bit small and the decor was dated.

Bet was comfortable and the bathroom was very modern with a good shower.

Breakfast was superb and evening meal was great.

Wouldn’t rave about this place as a hotel but for a business trip it’s ideal for 1 or 2 nights.

Fantastic lunch

Stayed for business on a Monday as working in the area. This place is a hidden gem. The room was comfortable, and had everything you would expect. Lovely bathroom plenty of hot water. 

However the restaurant is a real treat, it’s not often I could order everything from the menu - it all looked so good. The evening meal and breakfast I had was amazing. Well worth a visit to try this great food.

Hidden Gem

Just back from an excellent afternoon tea in lovely relaxed surroundings. The big test for me is will I get enough tea to wash down the bakes etc and the answer is yes I did! Large pots of tea were willingly provided without any trouble. Had a recent issue at an Edinburgh top hotel where they served tea in tiny pots and flagging down staff was a constant issue when I needed more!

Great afternoon tea

I stumbled upon this establishment on the 4/1/21 when trying to book a hotel near we’re I was going to work. It was the only one that got back to me and I count my self luck they did.
What a wonderful host and a clean comfortable establishment. The beds were quality and when your getting old bed comfort is a big thing. The other plus was the restaurant which had a limited menu due to COVID but it was all great quality and changed regularly over the weeks.
It was that good we stayed a second then a third and hopefully a fourth visit, for weeks at a time.
Finally the breakfast was very good and quite varied even in lockdown.

One of the best ever working stay away.

We booked lunch here, 4 adults and a 5 year old for lunch on a Saturday. Tables were socially distant and had screens in between, sanitiser was readily available and all staff wore masks at all times.

The menu was vast and catered for all tastes. The were staff polite & friendly. The food was served quickly and was very tasty. 

Our only criticism was that the menu was more a dinner menu as opposed to a lunchtime menu with a main course averaging about £16. 

We’ll definitely return.
