We stayed for two nights over the coronation weekend. We chose the hotel as it was within walking distance of a birthday celebration being held at the rugby club and we could do some sightseeing in the region. Check-in was efficient and friendly, and our room was well appointed, clean and with a comfortable bed. We stayed in room 4 which overlooks the roundabout. Although I am a light sleeper the room Is double-glazed and noise from the bar is minimal; it closes at 11:00pm. Breakfast is ordered the night before with a time slot and is cooked to order. Ours was comprehensive and delicious! On the second night we had a drink in the bar followed by dinner. It’s a traditional bar without music and the staff were friendly and efficient. Dinner in the adjoining restaurant was delicious. This is a family-owned and run hôtel and you really feel everyone behaving like a happy team! Highly recommended for the stay, the dinner and the overall experience!
