Very convenient for rail and shops etc. This stay marred by noise including room fridge. Cooking smells. But will return

Reception very helpful, hotel very tidy, everything ok. Only quibble, a few small flies in the room which I killed off. No parking but easy to use the railway station car nearby.

Ok for a quick stopover

This is possibly the worst hotel I’ve stayed in, the bedroom was so small you could hardly move around it. The double bed was only accessible from 1 side.The bathroom was the size of a small toilet, this included, a sink on the top of a toilet cistern, a toilet that you had to pen the shower door to use.The room had just been painted but the room had not been cleaned properly after completion.I fail to see how Hotels.com could rate this as an 8.6 in my opinion and as a gold member it should be no more than a 4. How do I seek compensation?

Terrible

I called in at the hotel while passing at 10.00 a.m. to tell them I would be quite late arriving that evening.  They were so friendly and helpful and even gave me the key to my room, a quiet one that I had requested.  Very pleased.

This was a last minute booking - on arrival we were offered a ground floor room at the front on a busy road- luckily the staff member on duty offered an alternative further back, which was very quiet

I've stayed in hotels all over the world and this small affordable one is completely unique. Clearly recently refurbished the single downstairs rooms which I usually use are modern, clean and comfortable. From the outside it doesn't look very special but as soon as you walk through the door you are greeted by a friendly reception team. Emma and Meghan are the two I've had the pleasure of speaking to several times and they are both amazing. Friendly, funny down to earth whilst remaining professional and in my opinion exactly how a hotel should be. All of the staff are great not just reception, they will go out of their way to help/advise and guide where needed. I hope your experience there is as good as mine have been :) 

Fab affordable hotel right in the heart of Taunton

Basic, functional, clean, perfectly situated for train station and cricket ground, short walk to town centre.

I’m writing this review laying in bed awake here. Absolutely awful establishment and i’d urge anyone reading this to stay elsewhere. 

We arrived yesterday and were shown to room 39, allegedly a ‘family’ room. After around a few mins of being in there room I commented that it smelled of exhaust fumes and assumed it was because the windows were open and it overlooked the main road outside. However, post a few minutes the smell seemed to worsen. 

After an evening out with family were returned and the room stank to high heaven of exhaust fumes, despite the windows being closed for the 6 or 7 hours we were away.

I’m now laying in bed at 01.34 with the windows open, to alleviate what i think is toxic fumes worrying about my son in the other bed.

Given it’s November, this is clearly why the windows were open upon out arrival.

I’ll be calling the relevant authorities as soon as it’s daytime.

Being a bit crap is one thing, being dangerous is another.
