Absolutely excellent service tailor made to our requirements ie early breakfast etc. can not recommend highly enough. 
Rooms we’re comfortable and of a high standard. Breakfast was excellent. Amply parking for our large sprinter van. Lovely view of  Harlech Castle.

Lovely, homely Guest House with stunning views, situated close to the imposing Harlech  Castle and Portmerion Village. Deborah was the perfect hostess, giving us a warm welcome when we arrived, and then providing useful insights on the local attractions. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the breakfasts were outstanding!  We did not have a car, and the narrow, winding road is not suitable for walking to the nearest rail station. However, we found that travel by taxi was quite convenient, while giving us the opportunity to chat with owner-driver Ken about the area. Would recommend this to anyone desiring a beautiful and peaceful sojourn!

We stayed for 5 nights (mother and daughter) while my daughter was playing a golf tournament at Royal St. David’s.  Deborah gave us a warm welcome, we stayed in room 5 which was spotlessly clean, two comfortable beds, sparkling bathroom with towels, body wash, hand wash and shampoo.  There was a kettle, tea pot, cups and biscuits which were refreshed every day.  There were plenty of PowerPoints to charge your electronics and the wifi was great.  It was wonderful coming back daily and walking back into the room  to the smell of fresh linen.  Breakfast was great.  We got to watch a little of the olympics in the evening with and put the snooze timer on the tv 🤣

We’d definitely return if she plays in that area again.

Lovely, homely Guest House with stunning views close to beautiful Harlech.  Deborah was the perfect host, giving us a warm welcome when we arrived.  The room was spacious and comfortable and the vegetarian breakfast was perfect.  Hopefully we can stay for a little longer next time.

Made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived, to the time we left. Spacious room, , v good nights sleep. Lovely en-suite, shower.
Plenty of milk, coffee, tea etc, ( not the usual 2 x tea bags , milk etc )
Lovely location, short  drive to the beach. Where at times we were the only persons visible.
Left, having had a hearty breakfast, which made the stay even more worth while.
Catered for my wife’s gluten free needs.

We went here for a one night break and what a hidden gem this was. A superb location with lovely views all around . The room was absolutely immaculate and the bed very comfortable and the host couldnt do enough for you.

We sayed for three nights and had a lovely stay. Barbera made everyone most welcome and her breakfasts are to die for. We only stumbled accross Gwrach Ynys in September when the road outside was being resurfaced and we had to stop at temporary lights outside. The road is now re tarmaced and we are very thankful for the chance to stop and see this lovely house. The room was clean and tidy the bed comfortable. The only criticism would be the shower was snug but perfectly functional but overall the room was lovely, the staff were all freindly and made it feel like home from home. Clearly Barbera gets the best quality produce for her breakfasts and cooks them superbly. We will definately return again.

This was a beautiful place with a lovely Host Deborah was lovely. She keeps a very neat clean property and with COVID restrictions in place, I felt very cared for as tea making facilities were cling wrapped to keep them safe the remote was sanitised in its own clear bag. Every effort was made to keep guests safe. The property has great little features like the servant bell buttons either said of the fireplaces in the living rooms where breakfast is served.
Breakfast was a mix of cooked and cereal options. and to avoid lots of movement in the morning we were served at our tables. Some clear screens had been brought in to separate the tables though there was good space between them anyway.

It was lovely to wake up with beautiful mountain views and a horse in the field next door which is Deborah's. The room was comfortable the windows were huge! there was a little bit of traffic noise but we had the windows open it was a very hot week in wales and I don't think it would have been such an issue if the windows were shut. The bed was a little firmer than I like but I have a memory foam topper at home so everything else feels too firm for me.

I had a lovely time here and will definitely look to go back again soon. We stayed for three nights at the beginning of July 2021

We spent one night at this lovely guest house with friends. It was in a lovely location with great views from the front and back of the guest house. Everything was in place for covid precautions and we felt safe. Deborah met us and was very friendly and keen to help with anything we needed. The rooms were very comfortable and everywhere was clean and tidy. The breakfast was excellent. It was a pity we were only staying one night. Would certainly book again if we were coming to the area.

We stayed for 1 night at this guest house with another couple who had come over to Wales from Yorkshire on some business. We didn’t arrive while late afternoon.

Therefore we didn’t appreciate what was in the area as a flying visit.

Deborah who greeted us at our accommodation was very approachable and attentive.
Everything was in place for covid guidelines and we felt very comfortable with everything.

Our breakfast was excellent as was the quality.

Staying at this hotel was a spur of the moment decision.  We were only going to visit for the day and decided to stay and so this was one of 3 in the area with vacancies.   We arrived at the door without booking as the website, for some reason would not accept my payment.  So , we turned up, with just the clothes we were wearing and when I explained this to the owner, she said she could find some clean towelling bath robes for us - which I was very grateful for.   The rooms were fastidiously clean; and the owner so accommodating and very helpful.   The property is over 100 years old and has been furnished tastefully and it is obvious as soon as you walk through the door that it is well looked after and maintained to very high standards. 

Breakfast was good and plentiful.  

Fantastic view across the countryside.   Would not hesitate to recommend this to friends.  


Simply Wonderful

From the moment you arrive a Gwrach Ynys you know this is going to be a good place to stay.  The house and gardens are beautifully maintained and full of character and the welcome you receive really makes you feel comfortable.  As a couple we stayed in the family room which was immaculate and everything so clean, plenty of space and tastefully decorated and equipped.  Breakfast was good and lots of help with finding restaurants in the area.  I can't recommend this B&B highly enough - a real gem.

A real gem

Enjoyed a lovely 4 night stay celebrating Mum's 80th Birthday!! We were well looked after by Deborah & the lady who helped to serve breakfast & cleaned the rooms (sorry I forget her name). We booked the family room at the front of the guest house with views over the fields of sheep & hills however there was a little road noise! Very convenient for eating dinner in Harlech every evening, visiting Portmeirion & taking the two Welsh mountain trains from Porthmadog to Ffestiniog & Caernarfon. Breakfast was very tasty with generous portions. Thank-you for making our stay memorable.
