What a fabulous B&B!  We stayed here in April to attend a family wedding in Norwich, our room was spacious with an en-suite which had a bath and shower. There are tea/coffee making facilities and loads of space for our belongings. Sue is very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We had our own key and could come and go as we pleased. This is very important to us as we had stayed last year in a nearby B&B, which had NO locks on the bedroom doors and we were expected to vacate the premises by 10.30 am and could not return until 4pm!! So as we have family in the area we will be visiting on a regular basis and we are delighted to have found Tacolneston Retreat, a real GEM. Thanks Sue. Oh by the way the breakfasts were delicious too!

The proprietor, Sue, was very obliging. No problem to delay arrival on first night. Good night's sleep. Nice breakfast. Sue was chatty but not intrusive. TV needed retuning - I did that. Excellent.
This is the best no frills B&B I have found in the Norwich area. 
Please note, it is very rural so you need a car, otherwise it would be a fairly expensive taxi ride.
There is a bad review on this site. I find this very strange as the person is from Norwich and, I can't figure why someone from Norwich would visit this area.

It's a clean and friendly homely place, ideal for a business trip or a working man away, there is one dog called Jack and two cats which friendly you can use the kitchen as well, my stay was for five weeks and it felt home from home, I recommend the red room the bed is fab

A real home from home!

atfirst on arrival i thought it was ok,sue was welcoming and made cup of tea.my room was ok,but after hour the telly packed up ,so i didnt want to make fuss,but next day she tried to fix it by swopping ariels,but still no pic.breakfast was very nice first and second morning but after that i noticed it started getting smaller,went from 2 tomato halfs to nome at all,only just enough milk and orange juice ,but looked a bit stingey.the main problem was i always felt cold,had to have shower one nite just to warm feet up,and after 2 days i asked for a new towell as mine was damp as no heating to dry it and she said she usually makes a towell last week!!when i asked for a key she siad what time you coming back which i found a bit victorian,i think she is struggling to run the b and b as i had to be out by 8.15 am as she had to go to work and couldnt come back til 4pm at earliest,i felt a bit rushed at breakfast.dont stay there if you dont like pets as i went toilet one nite and came back to find cat on the bed,and the dog has run of the house and it came in my room cus sue was always knocking on my door to check what time i HAD to be down for breakfast,i had to be down at a percise time,i think she gets annoyed by guests being in her house,made me glad to leave and wouldnt reccommend.
