Wow, what a pleasant surprise The Greyhound was. The staff 5 make this place. All of them, which is quite unusual, were fantastic...absolute credit to Greyhound.

Excellent stay; the staff was incredibly supportive, and we enjoyed the superb quality of traditional food at the restaurant

Probably the best and friendliest pub I have ever stayed in. Superb service with fantastic food, the breakfast was at another level. Will certainly visit again and thank you so much for looking after myself and my son.

Comfortable stay in twin room, good service, food in the pub was excellent.

The Greyhound is in a lovely quiet village with lovely staff and as a solo traveller I felt at ease. The accomodation is not modern but is clean and tidy and in keeping with the building. The room was spacious add  had that I needed.

Very friendly atmosphere and staff could not do enough for you.

Great place to stay. Beautiful Dorset village pub. Lovely cosy atmosphere, tasty food and excellent service. Very dog friendly. Hearty breakfast with particularly yummy sausages.

Lovely stay in a very peaceful place. Excellent service and food. After breakfast you were full for the rest of the day.

The one night stay was good. The owner was very apologetic that the pub & restaurant was closed, however all i needed was a room to get my head down so it definitely served its purpose. I will probably stay again when working in the area and hopefully the restaurant will be open and i can have breakfast!

Overnight Stay

Couldn’t fault the service and communication of the staff. This was excellent. The breakfast was excellent too. However, the rooms are a little tired and cleanliness wasn’t at its best. There were cobwebs and spiders/flies squashed into the blinds, one of which was broken.Overall, a very friendly and comfortable stay. Just need to spruce up the rooms a little and make sure that they have a deeper clean.

Excellent service, rooms a little tired

The staff were very helpful and friendly.  We thought we might be late for check in so they called us to make arrangements and let us know when there would be someone there.There was a nice range of toiletries in the bathroom and the hospitality tray held a good selection of teas & coffee.Our evening meals and breakfast were very good.There were a few cobwebs on the ceilings.

Two main things set this stay above most of my business trips… the food and the staff. Amazing meals with amazing friendly service! The quality of the room I stayed in wasn’t quite as high, but it was comfortable and did the job. A little small, but I know larger rooms are available (just not within my business budget unfortunately). A couple of minor issues could be resolved, like the shower head not staying at the right height and a lack of plug sockets etc, but I would happily return. And the village and surrounding area is stunning!

Excellent food and service!

Excellent large clean room. Has a sitting  area which isn’t always available in hotel rooms. Large comfortable bed. Convenient for shops (on doorstep) and seaside (couple of miles). Can eat in hotel- usual value for money food- or in local restaurants.  Tea and coffee in room. Oat milk provided in room as well as standard milk. Downside no biscuits on tea tray!!!

The restaurant and bar was really good cozy with log fires traditional with welcoming bar staff and servers. My meal on both nights was very good.Breakfast was also good.The room that I stayed in was in a separate outbuilding. The bed was clean, but the carpet had a layer of dust at the base and on top of the skirting boards. Stains on walls also put me off.Very basic small room with only a main ceiling light. I would return to the restaurant but I would not stay in one of the rooms again.

Great Restaurant, let down by offering poor rooms

Extremely friendly and helpful staff, and the restaurant is a really lovely setting. Food was great. Our room on the other hand, was small and uncomfortable. The bathroom was in need of a deep clean as there was pink mould in the grouting in the shower. The bed wasn’t overly comfortable and the room gets very stuffy over night. Being on the ground floor we didn’t like to sleep with the window wide open, which meant we struggled to sleep. We felt that the hotel/inn and the restaurant were two completely different experiences and it was a shame the quality wasn’t consistent through both parts. They were extremely dog friendly and looked after my dog extremely well as he’s on an extremely restricted diet. It was no problem for the chef to cook up someChicken breasts for our dog’s meals. We would go again, but perhaps opt for a different room.

Very friendly, welcoming place!

What a great place for food and an overnight stay. Lovely pub, with real ale and great food. Very attentive team throughout the visit.Rooms in building across the car park are comfortable, traditional and quiet. If you are looking for the shiniest, newest high tech bathrooms you won't find them here BUT what is here is a little piece of countryside loveliness!!

Don't tell everyone... it's lovely!!

The Greyhound has spacious, comfortable and well decorated bedrooms away from the main pub. The food was very good, as was the service, with that rare thing in a pub being a selection of choices at breakfast rather than the banal full English as the only option. One mild disappointment was the very limited selection of beers, but this could have been as a result of the pub only recently reopening after lockdown.

An excellent place to stay and dine

excellent 3 night stay at this lovely pub with rooms. Our room was clean and comfortable,no housekeeping due to Covid. The only negative about the room was only had velux windows so no view at all but that can't be helped. The breakfasts were more than excellent ! We ate in the pub every evening and the food was delicious and well priced as was the wine. Every member of staff was welcoming,friendly and helpful
