Excellent service, and very caring as to one's comfort Excellent breakfast

We stayed at Baldwin House back in October when I took my family there from Venezuela.  Friends had recommended it to us and mentioned about the lovely dog who was adored by our children.  We were late arriving after out flight had been delayed leaving Caracas and causing us to miss our connection in Madrid and after a phone call to Dave apologising before we boarded our Madrid flight, he was only too happy to wait for us despite arriving to him after 11:30pm.  I'm English and was looking forward to a full English breakfast which was absolutely delicious and lots of choice...even the family were impressed and they normally rave about their typical Venezuelan breakfast.  There were 6 of us, 4 adults and 2 children and we stayed on the 2nd floor in 3 rooms, one of which had been recently decorated and smelt lovely and new (they all did really), my wife loved it and she's fussy!!  Dave was extremely friendly and helpful and probably tired of our kids wanting to play with his dog all the time.  He seemed very interested in where we live and we discussed it quite a lot.  He showed us the other rooms he was upgrading and expalined how it is a listed building needs a lot of TLC which we could clearly see he had for the property.  My family really enjoyed their stay and hope that our next stays elsewhere in the UK will be the same.  We'll be back next time!!

We loved it...beautiful place and great breakfast!!

The Hotel is nothing like what it is advertised as.  No food available.  No one was hardly ever there for you.  The place was absolutely filthy.  The garden was a tip with broken furniture, etc, left outside.  There was no indication to say a dog would be roaming around the hotel, so with someone who has as allergies, this is an absaIute joke.  I tried to contact @booking.com, but as the booking was not in my name, they didn't want to know.  Even though my details were there as one of the party members booked in!  It was a while ago now, and I found the photos that were taken at the time of our misfortunate stay.  I may not have been able to put a complaint in at the time, which was very frustrating, but if it stops other bookings and other people being misled, then great!  Check the photos out for yourself!  @booking.com you need to vet the Hotels that you recommend professionally!!

Booked Balwin Guest House to meet up with some old friends as it is well located in the village of Stourport with easy access to the village centre, it's pubs and restaurants, and the river. Couldn't have asked for a friendlier welcome from Dave and Judy (and Princess the dog!), and was shown to a comfortable, clean room. Would have no hesitation staying here again.

Stayed over a long weekend with friends. Got delayed coming up from Hampshire and contacted hotel, Dave advised on what we needed to do to gain entry. Worked very well.
Accommodation was excellent, clean and well serviced.
Dave's breakfast are the best, select your choice and it's all freshly cooked. Set us up for the day perfectly.
Would definitely stay again.

Baldwin House Stourport

Had a great 3 night's  stay to meet up with ex work friends. I contacted reception as I was going to arrive late and was provided with key box entry. Owner Dave and manager Judy were welcoming and helpful. I stayed in room 6, which has a four-poster bed and balcony. Had a great breakfast and on Dave's recommendation ate evening meals at Black Star pub on the canal and Namste restaurant which is in same street as Balwin House both very good. Balwin House was originally owned by grandparents of prime minister Stanley Baldwin, so has an interesting history. It's close to the canal, river and town centre.

Booked Baldwin House for a stay over as we booked a family trip to West Midlands Safari Park with myself my wife, 4 year old and 6 month year old baby Having visited the park during the day and had dinner we headed to the hotel at approximately 10pm not knowing last check in was at 8pm as this wasn't made obvious - an easy oversight.I called the hotel when we got there as it looked closed and the phone was answered by the owner Dave with a very rude Yes!?.  I ignored this, and asked why the hotel was closed and he began to rudely explain how the hotel in closes at 8pm and I am lucky he is even answering the phone!  So I apologised profusely to which he said, Yes you should be! he then said you are lucky you have a baby with you and proceeded to disconnect the call!He then came down and opened the door and shouted at me saying "Where's the rest of them!" at the point I felt I had been disrespected enough and was ready to turn back or find another hotel, but had to think of my 6 month old.We then grabbed our things and came to the front desk where matters got worse! He saw my 2 children and said the rooms only booked for 1 child! and I explained I can show him the booking, he said "You can show me what you want, I don't care!".  After 5 mins he realised that I was correct and the booking was for 2 children on his system.  He then said I didn't book with Hotels.com and told me I booked with expedia! I said the booking comes across as Expedia but he called me a liar!

DO NOT STAY HERE! - RUDE & IGNORANT

Second time visiting and it was just as lovely as the first. Brucey bonus of the balcony and view. Room spacious and clean. Breakfast was delicious again
