We have stayed. before over the years. It was good to see that it has been refurbed , plus the evening meals are better, for us it is convenient and we will stay again

Was I lovely hotel  staff were amazing Bed a little uncomfortable nice and clean food was nice

Managed to get booked into here after returning from holiday so we could visit family whilst in the area, the hotel were great allowed us to book in at 11am rather than 16.00. Immaculate room.

We had a very friendly welcome from Chantelle when we arrived exhausted after a complicated day

Popped in this afternoon for a late lunch with family. Both Sunday lunch and service was excellent. Jess looked after us really well and the lunch was delicious

Main menu looks really nice so we will definitely be back to give that a try very soon 👍

Excellent food in evening and breakfast, staff very friendly and hospitable.

Very comfortable stay. Room clean with everything we needed. Had a delicious evening meal in a beautiful outside seating area. Very accommodating, even made sure they had vegetarian sausages for our generous breakfasts. Would definitely recommend.

I booked this hotel for my daughter and myself to stay in after a garden party that a friend was throwing, unfortunately for myself, a few days before we were due to stay here I had to be rushed to hospital with Diabetic Ketoacidosis. I attempted to cancel this reservation as soon as I could given the circumstances and because it was less than 24 hours before checking in they could not refund my money. I found out after I had tried to call to cancel that they had charged my credit card anyway. I was discharged the same day as the booking so I decided I would go anyway (not really in the best state for travel but I had paid £76 for the room and I wasn’t about to waste that money) 

My daughter was on crutches at the time (she had sprained her ankle) they don’t have disabled access, so her dad ended up carrying her up the stone steps outside and then up to the first floor to our room. 

When we got to our room we thought it looked nice but quite small. The tea and coffee making facilities were excellent (could do with some bottled water) there were even some biscuits. The bed was big and comfy, the window was easy to open and there was a fan in our room (thank goodness). Our bedroom looked out onto the beer garden, it was nicely lit up with string lights and looked beautiful. We were expecting a lot of noise from the pub below, it WAS a Saturday after all, but surprisingly it was really quiet apart from a few voices and laughter (which didn’t bother us at all).

The en-suite bathroom was a good size, the bath was bigger than expected (also had a shower over it) toilet and sink obviously. There was a mirror over the sink that lit up which was handy. Shampoo, conditioner and hand wash was provided (although it WAS screwed into the wall, no chance of nicking that then :-D). Towels were provided, hairdryer as well as welcome pamphlet and room service menu. Breakfast was not included but charged at £10 per person.

Nice but small, lovely beer garden.

On first impressions the hotel is set in leafy gardens, I was greeted by one of the most pleasant girls who booked me in, took me to my room - offered to help with my bags. My god I was shocked, normally you are just pointed in the right direction. The room was small but spotless and everything I could want, even a tiny fridge.After the even I was attending I returned to the hotel, the night porter was still as helpful. The only one thing wrong was the heat of the room, there is no air conditioning. A fan is provided in the room! However with the gorgeous thick duvet it was one or the other.I stayed over a weekend, late check out and what I can say is on of the best cooked breakfast I have eaten in a long time. Well to to an excellent team.

Lovely hotel and excellent staff!!

Receptionist was fantastic, first time for years I have been shown to my room in a UK Hotel. Restaurant was not so clever, I sat and waited while the waitress continued to chat to the barman ignoring the fact I was there even after getting up and taking my own cutlery and condiments to the table. Eventually I went to the bar to place my order.

Nice quiet stay.

Stayed too celebrate mums 90th birthday staff very helpful, rooms comfortable. My daughter in law needed daily visits from nurse at 7.30 each morning which was no problem to hotel. Food good. We would have liked to have breakfast one morning but had not ordered so not available, only disappointment with stay but understandable as hotel very small. Good value and would stay again

Convenient location

Very nice hotel with friendly staff , Evening meals & breakfast are excellent , only problem stayed here when it was very hot & the bedrooms receive full sun all day with no air con & windows that only open a couple of inches the rooms get very stuffy making it uncomfortable to sleep a fan was supplied when asked which helped a little.

Very nice hotel

The hotel had just had its 'makeover' and while this has significantly improved the rooms and the bar/restaurant area, there were a few teething problems, i.e. no heating, breakfast was a bit hit and miss. Overall much improved but prices have gone up a lot and a some of the character has gone now Eric is no longer there. Will be interesting to see it on our next visit.

REFURBISHED

Room was clean and comfortable. Did not have breakfast available during the week and did not try breakfast baskets that were the weekday option. We did have dinner and our burgers were very good. The staff were friendly and we were happy with this hotel.

Good hotel and restaurant

As regular Saturday punters we decided as a group to book a table (10 people) for the Christmas Fayre menu. The 3 course meal was excellent in portions, taste and value. My only niggle is the expensive cost of drinks. Staff were friendly and efficient, as always.
