This B&B is faultless, the location is perfect, a stones throw from the harbour, the breakfasts are delicious and Amanda couldn't have been more helpful. The room was a great size and spotless with a very comfy bed. We will 100% be back.

Amazing place to stay

We traveled to Newquay for a short 3 night break. We were warmly welcomed buy owerers and found it to be a perfect,clean and safe place to stay meeting the requirements of social distenceing effectively.

Rooms nice and comfortable catering for a good night's rest. The breakfast was everything you needed to set you up for your day.

Location is close to center of Newquay which bars and restaurants within walking distance.

We will definitely be back without a doubt cannot speak highly of St Bernards..... excellent in every way.

Brilliant sevice in every way

Comfortable , convenient , welcoming . What more can you ask . The room was well fitted out with some nice personal touches ( especially the milk bottles nothing worse than those little sachets ) Lovely view of the harbour . The stairs going up to the room are a little hazardous if you are a bit creaky . They are the equivalent of stairs leading below deck on a yacht .  The Anchorage couldn’t be better situated for exploring St Ives .

A gem in St Ives

I stayed for 8 nights in glorious Room 1 at the very top with a view of the harbour. Like staying in a little historic dollhouse! Staff so friendly and helpful. Breakfasts great. Back in Sydney, I feel homesick for The Anchorage, St. Ives!

A truly special place!

 Superb position 2 mins from.beach lovely room hostess and breakfast everything you could need in room and fridge provided for guest use in lounge/ reception and very good value for August

Super place

The Anchorage was perfect for me and my sister last September. We had the wonderful Room 2 - very comfortable beds, large well equipped bath, small fridge, and plenty of storage room for our five day stay. It was clean as a whistle and well stocked with tea making fixings, biscuits, and the like. Full English breakfast was wonderful and Sian and Jackie took such good care of us. In an ancient, picturesque building and close to everything in town. A bakery next door. Excellent location! I would highly recommend this place - we want to return and will stay here again if we can.

Want to go back!

Great little bed and breakfast in the centre of St. Ives.Stayed in the top floor apartment which had fabulous views over the rooftops to the sea and beach.
Stairs to the room may be a little difficult to navigate for the less mobile guests so would suggest you book rooms on the lower levels.
This was our first time in St. Ives and were made to feel so welcome by the marvellous Jackie who was a wonderful host.
Bed and breakfast is centrally located and would  have no hesitation in  recommending it to family or friends
This was our first visit to St Ives and would book the Anchorage if or rather when we return.

Perfect September break

The B and B is in a very old building. Our room was in the loft.  The expression 'climbing the stairs' was very apt as the access is steep and narrow but we aren't tall people, our heads survived.  We loved the quirkiness of it.  Sian, our hostess, was brilliant and the breakfasts are huge.  Well-cooked and satisfying.  The Anchorage is ideally placed for exploring St Ives and Sian is very knowledgeable about the area.  There is no parking at the B & B but Sian can sort parking for you at at local car park - sorry can't remember how much this cost.

Excellent B and B

We stayed here for two nights after moving from padstow what a great location just off the Main Street and two minutes from the sloop pub heaven!! .easy walk to all beaches and restaurants in a quiet cobbled street the only problem is parking it’s a nightmare in the end we parked at the leasure centre car park which is huge and caught the bus down to the town it only costs a pound and runs every ten minutes and takes about five minutes one way we left our car there which costs seven pounds for 24 hours . A cab costs a fiver to the b&b from there . We stayed in room 2 which is spacious and clean Sian is a lovely host and the breakfasts are enormous had to cut mine down on day two. Had to have a word with a party of Germans one evening about noise but I didn’t mention the war so all was ok we will stay here again.

I can't say enough good things about our stay at the Anchorage; my friend and I loved the area (the B&B is on a sweet little cobbled side street, 30 seconds walk from the harbour but still far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the main street!), we stayed in room 2 which has its own entrance, meaning you can go out as early or come back as late as you like without disturbing other people. It's spacious, cool (when visiting in the summer), nicely decorated (including a rocking chair) and cosy, with original stone features. Sian was a brilliant host, she gave us a cheerful welcome every morning and made us feel right at home - and she cooks a mean breakfast! The staff member we saw on our last day was lovely too (I didn't catch her name unfortunately). The train station, harbour, galleries and beaches are all within 10 minutes walk, the St. Ives museum is worth a visit and there is an amazing coastal walk a stone's throw away from the Tate with spectacular views too. The only tips I'd give anyone staying here are: use the steps directly above room 2 when checking yourself in for the first time (the Anchorage has a 5 on the front door - I accidentally went up the wrong steps and startled the chap who lives there!) and avoid the main harbour area at lunchtime, familiarise yourself with the side streets to get from A to B to save getting stuck behind big crowds of people and traffic. This is excellent accommodation for anyone looking for a relaxing holiday with personable service in a pretty location, I'd recommend this B&B to anyone and will definitely stay here again!
