The Merrydale Hotel

Booked for one night, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and more than met our expectations for the price having plenty of complimentry coffee and tea in the room and shower gel and shampoo in the bathroom. There is a good size breakfast room and the breakfast served was very good. Would certainly return for anothwr visit.

Myum and I stayed in flat 4. On arrival, Angela seemed friendly and informed us of where everything was. The metre had 4 pounds in it already and we just paid 7 for extra linen. The apartment was quite spacious and the heating was warm. There is one plug in the bedroom under the bed. To be honest, it was cleaned to a standard, but was a little itchy as the bed setee had a slight hole in. Could have done with a bath or shower but it was tiny and the bathroom smelt a bit. A new carpet and upgrade is definitely required. Beds quite comfy. It has a sign which says to respect others staying but at 5am heard drunken knocking. Went back to sleep, but mum up earlier. At 8.30, had to go across from flat to  bathroom and a lad with a gray hoodie looking up, so not much privacy. On leaving, we rang the bell and no one answered. Not sure why, so left keys in the door. Would have scored more if bathroom was better as we like clean places. Thank you.

Fairview holiday flat

Dreadful. Filthy, smelly, disorganised, way overpriced. We had booked this well in advance, but on arrival we found our booking was lost, he offered to set a room up for us but just the look and smell of the place and the scruffy and incompetent owner made our decision to cancel very easy. He wanted to charge us £50 per night, we would not have stayed even for a tenth of that. Found a wonderful place nearby at a similar price, which I will be giving a glowing review later.

Avoid this place, at any price.

I normally check places on TripAdvisor but this was last minute and the only available room in skegness on what was a very busy weekend. Communication with the owner prior to arriving was excellent pity the room didn't match. Was told on arriving that the bar restaurant was closed due to being decorated (Not a problem) , supplied with 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel between 2 people, half a dozen half empty shampoos in bathroom, cold tap that ran constantly, tv with no remote, bedroom  door that was impossible to close quietly. Location is the only thing that this place has going for it.I now know why we were the only guests.


Not so merry merrydale

I have stayed in hotels, guest houses, bed and breakfasts around the uk and the world. This is the worst place ive been to. 

The room smelled of dogs. Couldnt sleep as two dogs fighting in corridor outside my room. Also kept awake by someone trying to dismantle a pram in the corridor. They obviously gave up as it was just left there outside my room causing a fire hazard and blocking route out of the hotel. 

The bathroom had no soap and the toilet seat had cracked veneer and looked very old.

Beware, parking is an issue as the street is packed with residents, holidaymakers etc... Also beware if you use a wheelchair, the ramp in the entrance didnt feel like it could hold much weight and it felt like it was about to break.

It felt and smelled dirty and my skin was crawling so i left and went home. My weekend was spoiled.

Dont stay here.

 First impressions mean an awful lot it was horrible the entrance was filthy carpets stained it stunk I can honestly say I will NEVER I WILL REPEAT NEVER EVER will I return to this place again the bathroom window didn't  close it was broken  the shower I wouldn't step foot in that the bed didn't feel safe at all and the roof above the bed looked as if it's going to cave in we didn't stay for breakfast the look of that place was enough we was up and out by 8.30 in the morning the place needs a lick  of paint and bloody good clean ... do think twice before booking ere...!! 😷😷
