This was the third place we booked into after water issues with our first two preferences and we really landed on our feet! Gorgeous views, good location and friendly staff. There was an 80s/90s event that weekend which was so much fun and great to feel included. The swimming pool and the sauna were an added bonus and certainly helped to make this the relaxed and fun weekend we intended it to be.

Perfect getaway hotel

This is a low standard hotel so do not expect more. All aspects of hospitality are lacking, of which the most concerning is the lack of cleanliness. The staff we encountered, bar the management, were friendly and hospitable however. Read the manager’s responses to people’s reviews on Booking.com to discover their lack of professionalism and customer service.

Poor attitude of management

The worst place we have ever stayed.
The manager was so rude, walking off ignoring us several times when we tried to speak to her, her attitude was awful.
The room was not what we had booked, it was small, outdated, with cheap old furniture and unclean.
We made the best of a bad situation and advise you to avoid at all costs, or sleep on the beach under the peir if only place available.

Avoid

I am at this hotel now staying for 2 nights for a family funeral booked it as it was a good price and we needed 4 rooms. I was a bit worried after reading reviews but I have found the room to be clean and comfortable it is a budget hotel but has everything you need nice clean white linen on the beds we had 2 singles but some others in our group had a double so I guess it's luck of the draw. Nice clean white towels good shower tea& coffee making facilities and only a 5 min walk to the seafront basically it does what it says on the tin! If your after luxury this is not the place for you but if your after a clean cheap hotel in a good location don't let the bad reviews put u off

Good clean budget hotel

There are a few bad reviews about this hotel and we were apprehensive about our visit. The welcome was not the best, but we arrived a few hours late due to the ferry being delayed and I can understand the owners frustration about having to hold back on the food service and pay overtime to staff. After the initial welcome, we were shocked, the staff could not do enough and the evening entertainment was excellent.
I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for, however, the food here was very good quality and cooked to a great standard, they don't list poached eggs on the breakfast menu, but ask for them, the chef is well practiced!!
The down side is the decor and after speaking to the owner, it is a work in progress.
I would return and if you don't over expect, you will be pleasantly surprised.

Make your own mind up.

Stayed for 4 nights with National Holidays. On arrival about 6.30pm, we were allocated our rooms and then went straight into evening meal after a long day travelling. This was 3 courses and was lovely. Each evening you would order your breakfast for the following morning and each morning, you would order your evening meal. All the staff were very friendly and really wanted us all to have a lovely stay there. I personally enjoyed every meal there. Entertainment was put on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evening and was good. Our room was at the front on the first floor and had a large bay window. Tea and coffee making facilities were plentiful. Room was comfortable and warm. 
Overall, I would say this hotel should be 3* and I would stay here again. Thank you to all the staff for making us all feel welcome. 

Friendly hotel

Arrived after an 11 hour journey including the ferry and on arrival here, a  lady from the hotel got on the coach to welcome us and said we could have our dinner at 6 30pm instead of 6pm. Very efficiently we were given our room keys and table numbers. Room is cosy,  the shower is hot, beds are comfy, pillows soft and the food has been lovely with a good choice of breakfast and dinner menu.
Service is always with a smile and the staff are very hard-working and very accommodating if people in our coach party wanted extra items with breakfast etc.
Entertainment is provided Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings and is very good for all ages.

Highly recommended 

Just spent a weekend here, good points first, hotel staff excellent Nick & K very hard workers in restaurant, entertainment Saturday night was excellent, bingo Sunday night was funny the way it was organised owner daughter delightful,  plenty of tea  coffee and milk in the room,  
bad points, we were in room 14 no heating all weekend, toilet overflow was running all the time , did tell the owner but she was unable to get a plumber until Monday, room was very basic bed was like sleeping on a bed of springs but linen was clean, but overall the weekend was a nice break, and the people on the coach were very pleasant and I think we all enjoyed the weekend,
     Would we stay here again, I'm sorry to say the answer is no,

What a shame  hotel going down hill

Pictures on here are very outdated and misleading. Very shabby and needs updating. Most of staff are rude and off hand. Woman who owns or manages it has attitude problem and doesn’t like being told anything is wrong. Completely ridiculous if you can’t take criticism. Especially if it’s true. There was a male waiter. Viz I think he was called young Indian man. He was pleasant but the only decent thing about the place was him. Felt sorry for him. Doing everything himself. Entertainment was non existent on a new years break and very lacklustre on New Year’s Day. Food choices were poor and very average. Very noisy too. Walls were like tracing paper so could hear everything and I mean everything without being too vulgar. Needs new staff and revamped. Wouldn’t stay here again.

Disappointing new year break.

I was coming from another part of the island to join up with a coach trip I had booked on for a second holiday. I called in the morning to find out what time I could check in and was SHOUTED at “ I can’t check anyone in til 5.30”! ( even though the reception door has a sign saying check in Is from 3-8pm- I later noticed) on asking for directions from bus stop, I was told “ get a taxi, bye” phone slammed down. This is how the extremely rude owner speaks to the guests. My room was worse than basic, cracked sink, sloping bathroom floor, dirty smeared walls. Cold shower. No table to do my work, so I asked to borrow an ironing board ( guest information says available if you ask) I was told “ No you can do you work here” ( in the bar) Very unreasonable. I told the manager The reasons I was not happy but he cannot override the rude owner.
The coffee was cold at breakfast and no hot water was provided as “ boiler broken” 
After one night , I moved to the hotel next door and was given a lovely clean and comfortable room, with a sea view for a very reasonable price. My holiday was saved. 
Talking to other guests on my trip I discovered they had horrors like wall plugs held on with parcel tape, and wet pillows from water on the wall. One said she unplugged the kettle and the whole socket came off. Surely it is illegal to have rooms in this condition!!??
