We went for a couple of drinks and to have sunday lunch, all of us were blown away with how nice tasty the lunch was.

Today 24/09/2023 were three meats to choose from, Beef, turkey. pork, all were tender, so was the crackling, veg sides again lots to choose from all lovely, now the yorkshire puddings !! well as good as my own, must confess i am good at those, ha ha, staff freindly, clean, cheers to Jackie manager, and Danny chef . will be back . thankyou x


Brilliant

Went in for a carvery on Sunday and couldn’t believe how good it was. The staff was friendly and the chef couldn’t have been any nicer. The whole place was packed to the rafters but the staff on shift were so nice despite being rushed off their feet. I would recommend this place to anybody.

Lovely place to eat. 

Start off with a positive, food was lovely and meat was perfect, chef welcomed us with a lovely smile and very friendly and bar staff very chatty and friendly. 

Negative's 
on arrival we got welcomed (and I use that term lightly) with a very strun lady asking us how long we was going to be (and that was before we was even seated) as she needed the tables in one hour due to another booking, We had made a reservation as well and felt very under pressure to finish our meals within that time and put us off ordering Desserts, Also noticed their booking system was just a random scrap of paper been scribbled on.
The same lady that greeted us stood around while all other staff was very busy. 
To sum it up lovely food but would be a more pleasurable if the first person that greets you had more Hospitality!!!!

Sunday lunch

Entry to the rooms is via an open metal staircasethen through a fire door. The door to our room does not latch, only locks. The bathroom door does not have a lock and does not latch. Tea & coffee n the room was good. Just settling down after driving a lot of miles ( around 9pm) when the singer started in the bar below. We asked about breakfast when we checked in and told they don't do breakfast.   we won't be coming back

What a pile of poo.

Unfortunately here now with my young daughter & cannot even hear the tv in our room never mind try to sleep. Avoid at all costs unless you plan to use the bar. Not ideal for family. Would not have booked if i had known there would  be extremely loud music all night

Family stay

We were relocated to this hotel as our original hotel booked had closed for refurbishment. On arrival the lady who checked us in was lovely and let us in our room earlier as it was ready. The room was clean and a good size so ideal for us. There was a lovely balcony at the back of the hotel over looking the golf course which when we stay again we will take advantage of. After our day/night out we returned around 11.30pm and there was a singer performing in the pub below. It was a great atmosphere so stopped for a drink and even though we could still hear it when we went back to our room as we were above the main entrance it wasn’t an issue. The only things stopping me from giving 5 stars is our room was very dark and poor lighting in the bedroom and bathroom. Which is hard for us ladies putting on our make up. But having walked past other rooms on check out they all weren’t like that. Also, new pillows needed as they were a bit flat and there was no hand soap in the bathroom. Highly recommend and we will be returning

Great stay

Nachos should have soft melted cheese on top similar to that on a pizza not a solid mass. My pie was small and lacked filling. Pastry hard like it may have been cooked more than once or had been kept warm for too long. Burger very nice and moist (pleasant surprise as I expected overcooked and tasteless)


Did not like the nachos or pie.

Came here last night as a group of 16. Portions were very good value for money and food was excellent. Surf and turf was cooked to perfection, hats off to the chef, who we were told is called Craig. All meals came out within minutes of each other so we could all eat at the same time. Will definitely be back.

Top meal 

We had our Christmas Day Dinner here again for the 3rd year running and can honestly say it was the best one so far the canapes were amazing and could have just stuck with those, but the freshly done veg and the roast meats and all the trimmings were just as good and the pudding was a great end to our dinner well stuffed afterwards and all the staff are amazing and did a great job with a smile and a laugh for everyone, so thank you to all and cant wait for next year

LOVELY XMAS DAY DINNER

Have been coming into the fairways for years, but not been to eat for a while. We decided to come up for a couple of drinks and tea as it was a bank holiday weekend. The staff are cheerful and helpful and the service was excellent. 
We decided on our food and it arrived promptly and very well presented. The portions are very large and more than we could finish excellent value for money. Great pub with fantastic food so much better than the usual warmed up stuff you get. Will definatly be back 🙂👍
